After the tragic power steering failure of my Volvo C70, I made the decision to hunt out a Micra 160SR. My dad has had quite a few K12s, and I love a warm-hatch, so it seemed like the perfect car.

And it was the perfect car, for 6 days spin

Thanks to the Taxi driver that pulled out on me, caused me to crash, then drove around my upside down car and left mad

So I was back on the search for a car. Initially I wanted a 106, but my options weren't great and I didn't feel like driving much further than the border (I live in the highlands). I turned my attention to the 306 instead, made a bit more sense considering the length of my legs and how often I need to use the rear seats.

I found an absolute beauty of a 306. Meridian spec, 1.6, lovely green paint, with lovely green interior. and some 205 wheels! biggrin it's a bit rough but I don't mind that at all!

Unfortunately, while driving back from Edinburgh last night, my windscreen wipers completely stopped functioning. I've got a man coming to fix that tomorrow as I don't feel like pissing about with the relay.

Cheers!

Looks like you were lucky to get out of that micra!

I love a 306. If you can get some seats from a Dturbo they are insanely comfy (and look cool!)

Are you able to track down the Taxi?

The micra crash looks awful.
But the 306 looks great. I had a gti6 a long time ago that was fantastic, if a money pit.

I'm sure the police could if they ever got back to me...

I got a really bad black eye and had to get glass removed and stitches etc, but I clambered out of the car okay (after dropping out of my seat straight onto my head hehe)

I will look into the Dturbo seats, the ones that are in right now are VERY comfy but they look naff!

If you can get a set of 15" cyclones, that would look even better smile Failing that, a set of the 15" XSi/S16 wheels.

I had a Ph1 DTurbo-S many years back, which I have very fond memories of.

Immobiliser has been bypassed, I can imagine that being an absolute ballache!

The problem is, anything "S16" is super rare these days.....you'd maybe find a set of half leather/alcantara GTi6 seats from a Ph2 or Ph3 car, although then your door cards won't match.

You might get lucky with a set of Ph1 XSi seats from a 5 door, which from memory are pretty comfy too and then you could transplant the whole lot.

I think I still have the S16 doorcards in my garage if you find a set. Although I did put a hole in them for my keep-fit windows. I had the advantage of a rare 1.4 3-door there though

I'm not overly fussed about matching door cards, or matching anything really biggrin would quite happily just swap the drivers seat to be honest.

Little update on the wipers.

I started the car up to go and collect my brother, hit the wipers just to check they were still fked, and they worked perfectly. I've told 'the man' I no longer require his services and will be phoning him when they pack up again biggrin

The next very important issue is that my bluetooth radio transmitter is too fat for the trim around the lighter socket. Tested my dads one, it fits, so I ordered the same one from Amazon, its due today. Hope the speakers aren't complete st!

Often the stalk controls fur up inside if it's got damp in there, a cleanup with some wd usually sorts them out.

I wouldn't hold your breath! Luckily it won't cost much to put some better speakers in there..

Max Power style audio install is far too tempting! Who even needs rear seats...

Just a decent pair of 6.5" in the front door cards helps a lot, they're quite a shallow mount so the stock speakers struggle a bit.
