Ran a 335d estate 2014 for a few months, great car tbh.
As a daily all rounder I can see the appeal. Had lots of toys, 50mpg was possible and lots of shove. However my commute isn’t that bad anymore and I miss a “fun” car

So goodbye 335d

And hello M4

Now I get it, I understand the M buzz and I thoroughly love this car. I liked the 335d, but this is just a superb drive. Didn’t necessarily want black, but love the sunroof and the Silverstone leather contrasting.

Booked in to Litchfield to have the map removed and their one put in place, so will remain circa 520hp.

M performance exhaust sounds good as well in all honesty, and it doesn’t do the constant embarrassing pop and banging all the time.

Can’t wait to get some more miles under my belt, it’s a riot to drive! More detailed follow up to come

Nice smile

Not enough of these on here, wondering if the imagine through the likes of the cutters website doesn't help that.

I was thinking of a low mile M2 when back (!) at mid 20's, but these are similar cash, and the seats alone look like they're worth it!

Silver wheels would transform that car, imo.

Nice though, I like them.

Very nice OP and I'm a big fan of both of those cars. cool

I've had my F82 M4 for 2 years next March and I'm still completely in love with it. They are a fantastic all round performance car I reckon.

Enjoy yours. driving

The spokes are predominately silver - it’s just not a great shot.

Lovely car. Enjoy!

Looks lovely!

I do like the shape of the M4 - so much nicer than the abomination that has replaced it...

Thanks all

The dealer had the centre spokes smoked in a shadow chrome which I do like. I’d like to lower it slightly but it’s a daily car now and I can kiss goodbye to the front splitter if I do

Traction is an issue! Spins up a lot, despite Michelins all round
The wet is fun, and it seems to have a proper diff so controlling it is predictable

Once Litchfield have gone over it, that’ll be it for winter.

It will definitely keep you on your toes for sure! biggrin

Do you have PSS or PS4S on it? I can't quite tell from the pic(I think they are PS4S?).

Great upgrade. The Litchfield map may help traction, well mapped they make the torque in a more linear manner I understand.

Great choice 😎 I went from a 330d to an M4, so a similar move. I miss the E92’s economy and build quality (it was slightly better for me) but the M4 is a different league of motor car. Enjoy every minute, it’s a brilliant experience.

Obligatory pic, just because…

Awesome - love the comps but this spec was so right I had to have it.

Regarding the build, do you feel there’s less “car” there and things don’t close with quite the same thud??

I had an Alpina D3 before these too and can relate I think

Drove right past my road today just to do another loop up to the roundabout and back….addictive

Thanks all

I wish that the roof came off mine to be fair! Mine is the none comp with the OPFs(I believe that the comp is loads louder though)...so it is as quiet as a mouse sadly. At least the 370Z is loud though! biggrin

Made the same change myself, 2 years ago, went from a F30 335d to a F82 Comp.

Agree, it’s a great car with more character than the 335d and goes considerably better!! You certainly pay the price at the pump for the extra pace. The only bit that after 2 years pisses me right off, still, is the jerky gearbox!!! Drives me round the bend the effort involved to keep it as smooth as possible. Car is under the extended warranty or it would be treated to the GTS gearbox flash!

It’s fine when you’re really pushing on or just pootling around but upping the pace it’s a pig, especially coming into roundabouts and then wanting to quickly push on.

Obligatory picture, assuming it uploads ok….

So the jerky pull away is normal? I thought it may be map related. First gear from a standstill it in sport mode is hit and miss, if you’re not booting it it’ll often kangaroo! Interesting to hear it’s not just mine. I have to almost pre empt when pulling on to roundabouts and be quite sensitive, same with yours?

Great colour btw

Lovely car OP. I assume no warranty hence the map. Will you have the preventative crank hub mod done as well? I don't think the risk is huge but it's supposed to be increased on tuned cars.

I've always been a manual gearbox man for years, but I have to say that the DCT has converted me though! getmecoat

The DCT does misbehave a lot at really low revs for me(the car is standard), but overall I think that it is a brilliant gearbox though. Its temperamental nature hasn't been enough to put me off it to be fair, and I've also experienced similar with the ZF8 auto as well.

If you want full control then you have to go for the 3 pedal route I reckon, but in saying that the 2 pedal route is decent...because they give you the performance far more easily though in many ways.
