So this is near completion now, but started as a lockdown 2020 project & a friends R34 ( I’m lucky enough to have a few GTRs inc a bayside blue 34 so helping out & essentially project managing)

Like many the R34 Skyline BNR34 was and still is iconic for many. I think this is the most iconic example in the UK.

A friend of mine wanted to get one so wheels were put into motion in Oct 2020. Having checked the auctions & a couple of examples were viewed but one really stood out so an on-site inspection ordered.

Grade 4, 1 owner, bayside blue, FSH from Nissan Prince, 1999 non v spec but with the dark interior. ( cross over month of oct 99 had this spec ) 62ks - perfect. Car was secured but was six figures & second bidder was a JDM gtr dealer based north of Tokyo. There was no accident history or rust

The R34 was a genuine, Totally stock example inc wheels exhaust etc, only a led rear lights & Nismo cluster change but mileage verified. Paint was good but could be improved in places

December 2020 car shipped & arrived 1st week of Feb. Collected from docks & owner drove it for 10 mins, then came the inevitable “ we should modify it “ - that was the last time he drove it.

This is where the journey really kicked in.

The entire Nismo catalogue was ordered, via good friends in japan & a parts supplier, I mean literally every part they make for R34
Wheels, full aero, tower bar, suspension, intercooler, etc new R35 brake upgrade kit, titanium exhaust etc

This also included the non catalogue items found on the Nismo CRS demo car. Carbon airbox, intercooler pipe work , and others, which are Nismo Omori exclusive.

Being a non v spec , it didn't have a front diffuser or rear diffuser. No problem. Brand new oem rear carbon diffuser ordered & Nismo Omori dry carbon front diffuser.

Looking at the paint list detail it was good but, can be improved so …

Booked in for complete repaint in oem blue again but all new oem seals, trim, rubbers , arch liners , etc etc everything that was available inc factory glass such as windscreen shipped from japan

Looks stunning but the interior was going to be uplifted. Nothing wrong with the oem interior but this car needed something special, so new JDM recaro & rails ordered, used door cards & rear seats , headliner , sun visors , steering wheel, grab handles etc all bought & sent to Robson leather in Tokyo for trim. All new oem interior pieces such as gear shift surround, etc then given the carbon treatment too by them. All items then air freighted to the UK for assembly

Another full detail post paint , ceramic coating & PPF & it’s finished.

Brakes , it had already received the R35 Omori upgrade kit, however after seeing another friend in japan receive a world first & fit carbon ceramic discs , these were then ordered, huge thanks to Midland brakes for creating the discs.

That completed the visuals & stopping power but what about the engine ?

A low mile smooth rb26 unmodified example was in the car but going this far another solution was needed.

A couple of friends are very close with Mine’s so a special engine based upon the demo cars blueprint was ordered. A stage 7. This however will use the high response 2.8 Hks kit, R35 injectors, air flow meters and other upgrades. 12 months of build and it’s ready, along with carbon prop shaft from Hks balanced by NAPREC, new R33 rear diff, new clutch. Fuel system etc etc all supplied by Mines.

The engine build was also documented by friends on multiple visits over 12 months. ( near on 1000 pictures & vids). A new discontinued Nismo 320 cluster was installed as the miles will be zero with the new engine.

Absolute pleasure to help a friend with this process & create something really special. I’ve really enjoyed it

Huge thanks too, to those who have been involved, from Trust Kikaku, Mine’s , others in japan & the UK. From transport, paint, detailing & mechanical work

There are a few videos on YT.

Nismo exhaust is a work of art , new mfd ordered , badges etc just some of the boxes ..new oem lights sent for led conversion in japan, trims , etc clips etc scuff plates, you name it , it was bought.

Seats being done with the only trimmer given the official Nissan license to use the GTR logo

Just to give an idea , this entire car transporter was packed with all the parts , there wasn’t any room, it all just squeezed in.

So here’s to 2022 & looking forward to 2023

No sorry I dont think that’s fair on the owner I’m afraid. Obviously these things do not come cheap to do properly.

I meant if I won the lottery, I’d have one of these parked next to my 22B, E28 M5 and Quattro Turbo.

It’s built for response as per the choice of internals. Mines do not go for power, you go to Saurus or Top secret for that. 550ps.
