thought I'd do a quick post on here with my e92 320d. Bit late as I've owned it for 10months but alot been changed during this time. 1st it went off for a geo set up but they advised it needed new lower control arms as bushes shot. After abit of research I replaced them with m3 arms and it went off to be set up again. Big improvement with the m3 arms turns in alot better for a big car. When I got the car I was fully aware of the n47 timing chain issue so I booked it into have this replaced but when they took the engine out to do the job serious end float was discovered on the turbo so this was sent off for recon. Car has since run as it should and I'm chuffed with it. Being an lci it looks modern and pulls well enough whilst returning around 41mpg round town. I am considering a remap tho as I feel its got abit more to give but before anyone says I should of got myself a 6pot 3.0l I wanted cheap tax and ecomony. Sorry for the short post but welcome any comments. Car is mineral white so has a nice flip to paint in the sun and also has red leather and is a manual

Fair enough - I had a 123d with the twin turbo N47 engine for over 6 years and loved it.

But I bought it when I had a proper job with car allowance and business use. Over 81K miles it averaged 48.7mpg which was pretty impressive.

Then in 2014 I realised all that no longer applied, so I bought a couple of petrol straight 6s!

My current daily is an E90 330i that averages about 32mpg. For the limited mileage I do that's good enough.

Decent mpg for a straight 6 petrol. I personally think the e90/e91/e92 has aged well more so in lci form. Cheap to buy aswell. The n47 gets alot of hate but I think if looked after alot do 200k miles easy
