Poverty spec and low milage E39 540

Dang, the E39 bug is hard to shake, I think I've had 15 of them incuding this one, sold my 2nd E39 M5 in september last year and the plan was to pick up another one come spring, shock and horror, none to be found in decent nick, and even those have gone up £5000 over the winter, I'm not having that.

Still wanted another E39 as a summer run around, stumbled across this one at a local facebook group.

1999 540ia M-sport (or just sport for you UK folk), all original apart from a G-power axleback exhaust, which I reckon is just as silent as OEM, kinda begs the question why it's changed.. 58000 miles, almost 94000 km's, 3 private owners, it's not mint, have had a 95% good re-spray 3 years ago vith no visible bubbling, but solid, fast'ish, not so highly strung as the M5's. Nor as well equipped to put it mildly, I think this is as bare bones as these came, no extras apart from whats included in a 540 and with the Sport package, not even xenons . And it's re-sale silver over coal bunker, but I like it already.

Nice job; it'll be a solid E39 as per the norm...

I didn't gel with my Japanese import 540i at all; didn't love it even with all the work I put into it in the short period of ownership... If it were a touring it would have been a different matter I think!

Look forward to seeing what you do with this though
