Silverstone blue BMW e92 335d m sport plus
Discussion
Here we are again! Although my 130i was much loved and have some great memories in it, I've been hankering for a e92 for a while, chose the 335d as the car is mainly used for weekends away and days out as I have my van for daily use.
Found this and knew it had to have it
2012 e92 335d m sport plus
Silverstone blue
112k
With some nice extras,
Harmon kardon
Split folds
Xenon's
Heated seats
Electric seats
The pic which I wanted.
Last owner had for 4 years, looks like it's been loved by every owner with a good history file.
Bilstein dampers fitted, eibach springs
Recent front suspension arms, gearbox service and 4 mich ps4s's
Now I've not got many plans for it as of yet but so far I have done:
Genuine wipers,
Genuine front rubber mats
Genuine side repeaters
Oil and filter twice, second after 500 miles
Fuel filter
K&n panel filter
Fuel filter
Brake fluid flush
Air con regas
Rear control arms and bolts due to seized when having alignment check
Front end respray and a repair on drivers door
Car is in dier need of a detail but have have it a good few vakets using, garage therapy Decon shampoo, wheels deep cleaned and fall out removed
Protected ATM with garage therapy sigmas
Interior has been deep cleaned and leathers cleaned and conditioned using Dr leather cleaner.
I am over the moon with the car as it wasn't easy getting rid of the 130i so I was hoping I'd done the right thing. Interior feels a step up in quality and build, alot newer.
Suits me down to the ground and surprised how fast it is.
Main thing is I think it looks absolutely unreal and can't stop turning around and looking after parking up which is what it's all about right.
Will try and keep up to date as I can.
Next plans are swirl flap delete
Glow plus
Thermostat
Aux belts
Pulleys and tensioners
Crank pulley
Here a few pics so far.

Here it is being delivered

Major service the morning after I had it!

Starting the first clean

And after the 1st clean!
Will update further as I go along.

Looks good but I’m biased!
I miss my 130i in some ways (it was a lot of fun) but the E9x feels like a much better made car. I think the E92 is pretty handsome too,
Spec wise, the E92 was better than the E90; electric memory seats were standard and I think xenon’s may have been too (certainly on the higher power models anyway).

Same mate loves my 130 but as an all rounder I love the e92 hands down, happier than I have been with a car for a while.

Ah got ya, school boy error haha I've had a e90 previous so must have got wrapped up in the spec they came with. Feels like a Bentley compared to the spec in my 130, in an ideal world I'd love to own both.
How's your e92?
Lovely stuff that! I've got a 635D which I bought last year - so all the same power train, but the E60 chassis underneath. Mines had a gentle map to 335hp and feels great.
I previously a few years ago bought a cheapish 335D with 138k on the clock - I ran that to 197k before selling, the next owner remapped it and ran it to over 200k. Solid cars really, such good performance for the running costs/reliability.

They’re certainly a very obvious step up from the 1 series of this era and are obviously better built with better NVH levels. The E92 seems to be better spec’d than its saloon and estate counterparts which was one of the reasons I ended up with one. Mine is running well at the moment but the joys of N54 ownership, you never know how long that’ll last for!

Good choice. I have a lengthy E91 335d thread which may have some ideas for you. Re swirl flaps, I removed mine. I found the DPF blocked and wouldn’t re gen properly. I replaced the inlet manifold with a new one to fix the leaking swirl flaps.
I have removed swirl flaps on an older M57 without issue but found dpf and no flaps caused problems.
