Hi all,

Picked this up on Thursday. 2021 m340i on 11k miles in oxide grey. Full carbon kit and I think it has almost every option - tech pack, comfort pack, sunroof, memory seats, fancy headlights etc.

Really pleased with it.

That's a good looking car! Nice to see one not on black wheels.

Very nice! Bonus points from me for the silver wheels.

These look beautiful next to the M3, good value for money they seem. Enjoy

Thanks all. Assume most of these are on black wheels, then!

No real plans. I'd like the M Performance Exhaust, springs and spacers but will probably leave it exactly as it is!

I currently have one of these as a courtesy car whilst mine is in for repair - very nice, lovely noise, and pretty swift when required.

Lovely car, I've driven these quite a lot as hire cars and rate them incredibly highly- they say the fastest car in the world is a rental and having a B58 under the bonnet certainly helps validate that statement! Always a sad moment handing the keys back.

A tip for anyone in the market for one though- you're best to avoid any that are the basic spec and on a Yorkshire registration as they've almost certainly started life as a hire car... yours sounds like a great spec though OP so no danger of that being the case with your car! Must have pretty much every option ticked, memory seats in particular seem like a really rare option on these G20's.

Interesting! Didn't know that was a Yorkshire reg. I think between location (I'm in NI), mileage / registration timing and condition it's likely it's come off a two year personal lease here.

Y* registrations are used by BMW UK. They might be Hire, Press, Staff cars etc. It may well simply be a Yorkshire dealer supplied car but the first owner, service stamps might help give it away.

These are lovely cars. A mate of mine has one, and it's smooth, (very) fast, comfy and unbelievably economical.

Great choice, OP

What sort of economy are we talking?

I’ve been looking at the m340d but would much rather the petrol, I’d need high 30’s on a steady run to make it viable as a daily tho

I do long journeys or quick journeys. In my 21 M340i, I can get over 40mpg on full eco, doing 70mph on criuise control from the midlands to bath. Going from the midlnds to tunbridge wells tommorow and would expect simmilar. Best was average 45mpg on one trip.

That's great economy for the potential performance of a 340i, I can't help thinking the 335d is probably a better all rounder though? Suppose its horses for courses, some will only drive petrol, some prefer diesels.

I had one for a year. Defo needs springs and spacers, had mine done at Motech using eibach. If you do it need to change the tyres to non run flat. Car was transformed and looked amazing. Those carbon splitters won’t last 5 minutes though.

Yeah, BMW UK have a pretty big facility in Thorne, just up the road from Doncaster. Pretty sure it's where all the BMW UK cars get registered, my 125i is on a YK reg and has its PDI stamp from there and I've got the paperwork showing it started life on a 6 month staff lease scheme (Alphabet, for those familiar). I assume the hire companies buy direct from BMW UK and thus most of their cars get registered there too- I've probably driven or been in over 20 or 30 different BMW/MINI hire cars and all have been on a Yorkshire reg. I certainly wouldn't be put off, chances are the car will have spent a year or so in the hands of a middle manager who's driven so many BMWs they're not even slightly interested in thrashing it, but I'd certainly want to do due diligence- speaking from experience the M340i's that get sent out for hire probably get driven as hard, if not harder than the press cars, but receive none of the attention or care.

Anyway, I'm digressing. Certainly not something to worry about with this particular example. driving

That looks really great.

Splitters scrape over two of the ramps on road into work as it is if over 5mph so I may have to leave that idea alone! It's also got great tread on the P zeroes so it would be a shame to replace them already!

(What spacers did you use / how big?)

Sorry to bang on about fuel economy, but from today:

[url=https://flic.kr/p/2ozxNcb]

So thats derby to tunbridge wells, doing 70mph wherever I can. Averaging over 64mph.... and just over 48mpg.

..amd the range left
[url=https://flic.kr/p/2ozCFwa]

So, in theory, doing 70mph, the car thinks it can do 544 miles on a tank. Of petrol. And its also 370-odd bhp comfortable saloon.
I am very pleased with mine!
