This is my excellent SA who has gotten 7 Porsches for me over the last 16 years including 4 GT3RS ...some of my older cars behind the 992.

7

...and my 997 (. my first Porsche) being delivered by the same SA in 2007:

Very early to get a feel for the new car as it only had 12 miles on it when delivered. Needs to get PPF and a few things done. Will go back to Europe as always for a few events next year.

Spec looks amazing. White with red/blue or green graphics would be my choice too.

How does it drive compared to your previous RS’s

Very early to say as I am getting a few things done to it. It is definitely much harder than the others. If you want a road car with some track time then the 991 is a much better bet( as I knew). This is very uncompromising and on bumpy roads is a dentist's dream. It will be heading back to Europe as usual next year for some events and my usual Ring/Spa week, plus will add Monza.
It has to be run in but I will report more fully once I have it for a while.

Yeo..I deeply regret selling my 7.2RS..needed the space ,but decided I would not sell any good cars after that. Someone else can get rid of them when I pop my clogssmile.

Sales associate. Probably a Canadian local variation.

Be interesting how you use the whole fleet now as they are all so different. I'd be tempted to turn the 991 into an RS Touring without the rear wing.

I am not sure I have the aerodynamic knowledge to balance it all outsmile...I tend to leave cars bone stock apart from improvements over time in tires. Around the city I actually drive a Smart ForTwo of considerable age, or a Panamera or Cayenne for longer trips.

It is currently doing a bit of public service urging Americans in Canada to vote in the federal election. (OH is American and works for the Dems on a volunteer basis)........you will note the inspired aerodynamics here.

Congratulations on the new machine, the rear spoilers are going the way of the BMW grille though, surely they can’t be even bigger on the next gen.

Anyway, enjoy!

In a way I am a bit sad about this car. There will be a gen 2 of course, but this is the end of ICE stuff I expect. Typical generations of RS cars are about seven years apart, so the next really new one will be electric, no doubt.

Already electric supercars are slaying every record, the regulations are turning against ICE cars. I am not against this objectively but aware that the technology (like myself) has more past than future.

It has been a brilliant run and I have had the chance to run all sorts cars in my life, so no regrets, but realistically this is the sunset car for me. I expect that the next generation will be utterly different. In the immediate future there will be a wingless RS ( the ST) which will cause the usual frenzy I imagine.

Slight coronary moment - was looking at a few pics I halved taken and noticed the from wheel arch:

Enlarged the image, and there it was. A big scrape. I started to wonder if there was even paint available for a new colour. I park the car at a condo I own where I have multiple spaces, so next day I headed down with some cleaning material to see how bad it was.

Turned out to be a trick of the light. I am not fanatical about cars but would ne nice to get 100 miles on the thing before scrapessmile.......anyway, big relief now.
