Barn Find: Turbo Technics Dimma 205 1.9gti

I recently purchased a genuine Dimma Turbo Technics 205 Gti, which had been sat in a barn for the last 17 years.

It is now undergoing a full nut and bolt restoration by Terry Pankhurst. The same guy who built it 35 years ago!

If anyone has any genuine parts for sale that would help complete the project please feel free to get in touch.

I was going to trade in my cherry red 1.9GTI, but couldn’t quite afford it.

I didn't know Turbo Technics had made these, I only remember them doing Capri 2.8s and XR4is.

Fairplay! Always rated these on the CC’d split rims.

Be wicked with a Clio V6 setup in the back(and a turbo)

Never been a massive Dimma fan, they’re of the time for sure, but do appreciate the work that goes into them. A lad I knew when younger had a Clio Dimma. That was probably my fave of their kits.

It was Max Power featured. Loved the colour.

That looks like a good thorough re-build. I bet it’ll be great when finished

I love wide-arch rally cars, but the slats in the rear wings dated those (late 80s ?) Dimma kits really badly. Now though there’s definitely something “retro” cool about it, like those mad wide-arched Ferrari kits from the 80s - can’t remember the name properly. Koenik? Or Koenig or something like that.


I always though the 306 Maxi kit was the best looking. Still had a nice purposeful stance, but without the 80s creased bodywork and faux-F348 slats along the side.

Iirc the Maxi kits were all in-house Peugeot, but unquestionably a big influence of the Dimma kits etc. Lovely machines.
