So I have just done something very impulsive.

CONS
- Doubt it's an original SS.
- Has stupid slapper bars on the rear leaves, so won't go over speedbumps.
- hilariously non street tune: think hot cam, low ratio four speed, weightlifter clutch.
- no AC so will be as hot as Hades, as it is running a 425bhp 7 litre engine from a Corvettes.
- I know nothing about classic US muscle, and am just hoping that bits for these aren't idiotically pricey.

PROS
- at the price could be slightly modified to be a cruiser. So auto box and Aircon.
- my wife didn't kill me when I got home and told her.
- price is good for a non matching numbers, modified car, I think.
- condition is absolutely superb.

PHers: any links to useful resources, forums and clubs for these would be amazing, please! Better still, do some of you own and run similar?

I'd post photos, but PH is broken.

First order of business will be to sort out the low and doubtless rock hard suspension.

Oo err Harry that’s just fantastic. Is it for the commute as it’s exempt from the draconian charges?

Camera distortion.

Does anyone know where on God's green earth I can get this thing insured? On a Sunday? This is an online quote computer can't do...

One of the best looking muscle cars, surely. Off the top of my head the S/S moniker referred to the mechanical upgrades available and the R/S to cosmetic ones. Yenko and COPO come to mind as well.

Harry I know you have history with left field car choices. I miss my yank tank.

Anybody seen it?

Mike, any ideas for decent folk who can look after these cars, in SW London or Surrey?

I went down a little rabbit hole recently obsessing about early Mustangs with uprated suspension and found the excellent Mike Maier products. He also does really informative videos. You can ditch the slapper bars, get some modern leaf springs and a panhard rod and you'll have very effective rear suspension.

Have a read of this for his leaf springs:
https://mikemaierinc.com/products/64-73-mustang/re...

There will be equivalent products for Camaros out there - Hotchkis is the one I know for doing cool kits. Obvs you don't need to go the whole nine yards with their redesigned suspension arms etc.
