It was 8 years ago I first posted this car in Readers' Cars - where does the time go?? - and its now the longest i've ever owned a car so thought it was time for an update:

The car replaced a 981 Boxster S which just didn't really do it for me tbh - but that's another story.

It's a late 55, the 6th last available in the UK when I bought it. The colour and spec I wanted, except for the Performance Pack. But for the discounted price back then it felt like a steal. The Porsche had held its price well and the Merc was cheaper.

Did umm and ahh about fitting a diff, the main benefit of the PP, but tbh its not the type of car you go chasing apexes with so i've just spent my time and money enjoying it. As it ages i'm becoming more obsessed with keeping it factory OEM anyway.

The video below sums up what I like and don't about the car but mainly it's just such an event. From the moment you turn the key and hear the cold start to bumping into people who take an interest because of its rarity.

Intention is very much to hang onto it for another 8 years - at which point another update may be in order!!

Thanks for reading folks. I know its a bit leftfield and not really the PH norm but it ticks my boxes for some reason.

Nice vid!

I remember watching the first one you did - certainly a car on my radar.

I disagree - that’s definitely a PH box ticker. It’s a German TVR basically smile

Another year has passed and I still frikkin love this car.

Hasn’t been used much this year, house renovations, and it now needs a service, mot, tyres, aircon re-gas, next year is going to be expensive!!

Away for the winter months again now though, at least I’ll have time to save up.
