After a long, troubling relationship with McLaren owning a 570S for a couple of years I decided it was time to move onto something that I can hopefully keep in my garage for more time of the year that it is at McLaren being repaired.

Here are some pictures of my 570S, that I am coming from, just after it was PPF'd:

It was an amazing car when it was working, but as a daily it just didn't work enough so now I am hoping I made a sensible decision moving to something German. Maybe not the most sensible daily ... But who wants to drive to the office in something boring?! winkdriving

I picked this 2019 991.2 GT3 RS Weissach a couple of weeks ago and I am blown away by it:

Apologies for the quality of the images, I didn't manage to get any decent shots yet.

I haven't had chance to put many miles on it yet because I have been travelling but the first impressions are positive. What is really apparent is that lack of torque compared to the McLaren, and the overall sensation of speed is a lot different - adjusting from the turbocharged power to N/A will take some getting used to. Compared to the McLaren the Porsche does not have the same sense of urgency when pushing on, but that is compensated for by with the 9K redline, and the ability to rev the car out so well. I much prefer the noise of the Porsche at the moment, and handling wise there is no comparison - the Porsche for me blows the McLaren out of the water, but I haven't got a track day under my belt to make a real comparison between them. The PDK box is sensational, but there were definitely no complaints about the Graziano unit in the McLaren.

Options wise it has everything I wanted, and I am just in the market for some magnesium wheels and reverse sensors or a camera would have been really handy but that I can just about manage without.

Overall I am happy to have made the jump to my first Porsche, and hopefully a few more KM will keep me feeling I made the right decision.

That's amazing! Currently quite obsessed with the these as it goes. If it was me I'd change the wheel colour as they look a bit lost on black/black but I guess stealthy works for some people smile

Thank you! I definitely agree with you re. the wheel colour. I have been looking at some with the bronze magnesium wheels and I think it works much better. Something like this:

570s was stunning but you've certainly picked a beauty to replace it with.

Thanks for the comments. I hope to get some decent pictures that do it justice ... It is definitely better in the flesh.

I was in the petshop in the background of the McLaren photo this morning buying puppy food!

If you are ever passing Ranches, I'd love a passenger ride....
