Megane RS265 Cup
Discussion
After selling the V8 Vantage and Tuscan and deciding to make the A110S the weekend car I needed a slightly more practical daily driver, albeit one that will probably do no more than 4k miles per year
Looked at Abarth 595 Comps but could not find one that ticked all the boxes and then someone suggested a Megane RS
This is now mine
Oct 2014 RS265 Cup
53k
10 stamps in service book
Completely clean MOT history
3 year old Milltek turbo exhaust with sports cat
K-Tec remap to 300 bhp
LFY 18" flowformed ultralight alloys
Ohlins - a big ugrade from standard
Arkamys audio upgrade
Leather Recaros - awesome seats - Recaros was one of the non-negotiables for me
Pearl white - rare option
Clearly a well looked after car that drives without fault, feels very tight, no strange / worrying noises. A quick run out across country put a bigger grin on my face than the Vantage did in 14 months
I think I'm going to enjoy this

Looks great.
Are you sure they are factory Ohlins? I don’t recall them being available that early, I could be wrong.
I think they are, in all honesty I would not mind if they were added later as it would mean that they have done less miles, they are definitely the same as fitted at the factory as car came with the RenaultSport guide on setup and they look identical Are you sure they are factory Ohlins? What's the Arkamys audi upgrade?
I have a 274 trophy. Amazing car but on the brink if selling it or redesigning as more comfortable track car.
I have always been so disappointed with the sound system. I absolutely know its bot the sort of car that you would expect to have a decent sound system but it' seems soon bad to me. The sound system in my 182 is way better

Just better spec than standard. Settings were all over the place but now it's been adjusted it seems pretty decent if not spectacular I have a 274 trophy. Amazing car but on the brink if selling it or redesigning as more comfortable track car.

Lovely car! These definitely didn't come with Ohlins as an option, those were for the later 275s (Trophy & Cup-S). That's a positive for you though imo, as it means a previous owner spent some serious money on it and, critically, they're newer than the car.
The reason the latter is important is because I remember reading a while ago that the Ohlins are recommended to be serviced every 25k miles, though official info is now very hard to come by (seems to be removed from the Ohlins website), and newer stuff like the GR Yaris Ohlins Road&Track kit states 60k KM (37.5k miles) service intervals.
Just worth knowing imo but as you say it's drives nice and tight, so crack on!

FWIW I got 40k ish out of my Ohlins before they needed a rebuild (bump stops were knocking, and a spring snapped a few months before that). Retro-fitted to my 275 (they were serviced before fitting).
Obviously depends on use, and I was racking up 500 miles a week on the motorway at one point.
OP must love a F4RT engine with that combo!

Who did you use for servicing the Ohlins and what kind of turnaround time was it?Obviously depends on use, and I was racking up 500 miles a week on the motorway at one point.

One of these is on my radar for next fun car. Interested to know your thoughts
Not driven it that far but far enough to take me back 30 years. Its a proper hot hatch that put a bigger smile on my face in 25 miles across country than the Vantage did in 14 months
It feels solidly built, this at just over 50k has no rattles or squeaks at all
Its an analogue car and so much better for it

Sounds excellent! How is the ride on the ohlins? Reviews seem really mixed, some say rock hard, others say perfectly acceptable. I'm guessing you have a perfect comparison in the alpineIts a proper hot hatch that put a bigger smile on my face in 25 miles across country than the Vantage did in 14 months

Worth looking for the EVO video online where they compared a 265RS Cup and a RS265 Cup with Ohlins - pretty conclusive on all fronts including rude comfortYes, it's firm but very well controlled
