I'd been looking at SLK55 AMGs after moving my black one on over a year ago.

These are proper character cars - German automatic TVRs. A demonstration that they have a brilliant sense of humour. Why not - take a 5.4 engine and put it in the smallest car.

They drive as such - incredible fun, if not track weapons. The kind of car we won't ever see again.

Anyway, a PHer indicated that he was thinking of selling his blue example, so I jumped on it.

It's fantastic, a lovely colour combination. It drives very well indeed.

Post the storm I've been blatting around - great to be back in one of these with that noise! Not "fast", but what a thing!

The noise!

And it just has "stance"....!

Oh god yes. Perfect colour, and those seats are cloud9
Designo special order or have they been retrimmed? I didn’t think alcantara was an option?
Awesome concept, an updated TVR with an automatic box and a bit of luxury nails it.
More pics, more details!

Nice op, they sound fab, get the TVR comparisons, but they can also rumble around roof up in a lot more refinement too. Cool colour, theses examples are far better looking than the later SLK the wheels are fab, though I bet they’re a pain to clean

Nice. What’s the average mpg of one of these?

Loving it, if I could cope with a 2 seater I'd be all over this like a rash.

Similar colour to my CLK.

I really enjoyed mine - top down V8 motoring in the summer is something else. They might "only" have 360bhp but they really move as well.

Probably my biggest criticism of it was the gearbox. Slightly slower changes and the lack of rev-matching made for some lurchy progresss if you were trying to go at a pace, but for general day-to-day it was absolutely fine.

That’s proper special if it’s factory fit. Air scarf as well. Enjoy!

I have a saved search for SLK and CLK AMGs as really have a hankering for one (just lacking the money and the space - minor details) and remember seeing either this one or one virtually identical advertised.

Problem is now the nice ones are hard to find - a lot have been ran on the cheap, patched up and have had v8 badges stuck all over them.

I think good ones will always hold or go up in value as people realise how good they are (we will gloss over the subframes made out of Lancia grade steel!)

Some years ago, there was an old boy who had an identical model to this, and used to win pots for general levels of shininess at Mercedes Club events.

He even used to turn up in a suit made from the same colour cloth as the seat inserts.

Almost definitely this car from the history. Thankyou to him for doing a great job.

The car is now absolutely filthy after a good spanking today.

It definitely has a TVR-like soundtrack, and yours looks fantastic in that colour!

Sounds to be one and the same!

I always got the impression he had more time on his hands than I will ever have - lovely car though. I’ve happy memories of driving the SLK 55 on road and track; such a useable and beautiful machine.
