In a moment of itchy finger, I somehow ended up with this. I had a 2004 Z4 3.0i about 20 years ago as a 20 year old and I absolutely loved it. Was sorry to see it go then when I needed more space.

Bought unseen without even speaking to the seller so today's the first time I've clapped eyes on it.

It's now insured and taxed and I've transferred one of my registrations over to it which I'll put on once it's home. I've 'owned it' for a week but haven't had a chance until now to collect.

I plan to bring it back to as new condition and I'm 99.9% set on supercharging it.

Already has -10mm springs on it, genuine CSL wheels and an Eventuri carbon intake. So I'm not totally sure where to start. But will document it here.

Nice one AB, and I'll look forward to following your journey with it. thumbup

I've owned both of those cars in that photo funnily enough. smile

After having a couple of 3.0Si Z4s before I got my M you'll definitely notice a huge difference compared to your 3.0i, even before you supercharge it!

For that mileage with the Eventuri intake and OE CSL wheels I think you got a bit of a bargain - enjoy. thumbup

Very nice. Love my 2.5si. I fitted the genuine Z4M wheels to mine, and I’m probably biased, but I think they’re the best looking wheels for the Z4…

Wish I never sold mine, but the first car I ever sold and got more than I paid for it 3 years later.

You can drive over 120 and not get too much wind in the cabin and that engine loves to be reved to the red line. Our MK3 TT is rubbish in comparison for wind, anything over 60 and you feel like you're getting a blow dry 😉.

Yes that's true and the wind deflector is genuinely very good

Having the underside powder coated, needed a new battery and wipers, new engine mounts, ZHP gear knob ordered, new rear 3rd brake light as it was a bit untidy, service and MOT, new headlight washer jet bracket and cover to be painted and fitted. Will probably respray the front bumper at the same time. Put a reg plate I had on retention on it. It also needs a new window switch.

Headlight washers on these are a PITA!

The covers are prone to flying off, jets often leak or escape completely, and even when they work properly you get streaks on the paint that really stand out on dark colours.

Once I got my leaky one fixed I pulled Fuse 40 to stop them working (or more likely breaking). Even with Xenons they don't need to work on cars registered before 2009 for the MOT. Mine has passed 3 times without them.

That's some good advice and I remember doing exactly the same 20 years ago when I lost a couple during a very cold winter.

Eisenmann Race, ESS supercharger and engine/gearbox mounts ordered today.

Giving some thoughts to brakes and other bits.

I love these cars, had lots of z4's.

Drove a ess supercharged one, was an animal, incredibly smooth felt OEM.

Remove the 19's asap, ruin the car, get a gruppe m airbox and kw suspension and jobs a goodun.

Great news - I'm looking forward to reading about the supercharger!

Engine and gearbox mounts are a good idea. I had my bearing shells replaced at 78K miles and the original engine mounts were in a terrible state. eek

Jeeesus, that's impressively quick work buying the supercharger.. look forward to seeing how you get on with it.

There was a guy who frequented the forum, I think his username was something along the lines of 'BeeDub', who had a silver Z4M Roadster which was supercharged and I'm sure he kept a fairly detailed journal on his ownership.. which could be helpful for you going forward.

It was either here or M3Cutters, my memory isn't quite what it was. laugh

I vaguely remember it actually, from somewhere on the internet! There were quite a lot of videos knocking about, of it on a small track too, unless I'm making it up. Will try and dig it out. Probably not on M3C as I don't go on there much.
