After owning many fast Fords amongst various M3s, STI's, Evos

MK1 Focus RS
MK2 Focus RS
S2 RS Turbo 90s
Escort Cossy big turbo lux

I figured it was time to give this a shot. I've always been a fan of them but have been too busy messing around with supercharged jet skis to own another vehicle but here we are...

Spec wise - I was not fussed about lux packs or any of that as the car is purely a toy and will do little miles but what I did want was,

Nitrous Blue
Low miles
Standard
Not wrecked
Solid history

Ended up finding this localish (within 3hrs)

1 owner and all of the above

4 new PS4 tyres
Head recall done
Not one mark on it, it's nearly showroom
Never smoked in
Recaro comfort seats with nitrous blue stitching
Sync 3 upgrade with car play etc

So far I am extremely impressed with it, power is nice and smooth and it nips on very well.

Handles very well, isn't too gutsy, comfy - ticks all the boxes so far.

The only 2 things I have done are - K+N replacement element and awaiting my dcreamscience stratagem to arrive and that is it.

I have in my garage to fit this week

Brembo discs and pads all round
Refurb the brembo calipers with a lick of paint and some new stickers.

Will hopefully get a few track days in it and a ring trip.

I have owned over 40 odd cars and this is by far my favourite colour.

Looks great in the sun.

And all they did was chuck a few flakes in it to make it sparkle and away they went smile

Love these!

As per all ‘Fast Fords’ these are holding values really well!

They all seem to be, I have noticed these MK3s dropping in value tho. I got this one at a cracking price and plan on keeping it for the long term I think.

Lovely car, wanted to buy one myself last year but the stories of harsh ride quality put me off.
May be something i think about again in the future if prices get closer to £20k.
Mind me asking how much you paid for it?

£17750 - They had it up for £20k and no takers.

Ride is fine to be honest, in sport, track the ride is harsh as to be expected but in sport you can soften the suspension at the touch of a button and it's all good.

Yep they were needing rid of it as they needed a jeep for their big dog and didn't want to take it in the focus.

One observation is that the Pilot Sports P4S are no different to cheap tyres, I have never been a tyre snob in any of my vehicles and I am not that impressed with these tyres, they seem to lack grip in tight corners and really grab at the white lines.

This weekends task is to fit new brakes all round on it and refurb the calipers

I fitted the new K+N drop in filter, it has given it a little bit of noise but other than that it's all good.

I have the Dreamscience Stratagem IMAP arriving today as well.

Fitted a couple of gel inlay stickers.

Not sure why as I don’t plan on having the bonnet open but it looks nice haha.

I had the same car as this, but had a sunroof, bought new.

It was a good car. We took it on a track day at Goodwood, which was really fun, was only a half day but used a tank full of petrol.

On track I thought it was a bit underpowered, was flat out most of the time, but on the road it was fine.

Enjoy your new car, hope you get to try the drift mode.

We have a huge yard at work which I am going to test it in this afternoon when it is empty.

Smooth/clean concrete.

Right place right time I suppose purchase price wise, I have never seen one that cheap though unless categorised.
Enjoy.

Yep, clean as a whistle.

They had no finance or loans on it, they just wanted cash and kept getting messed around.

I think as I had cash and was localish helped.

That’s a lovely motor and best colour! As a Fast Ford (and Lotus) nut for almost fifty years I’m really tempted by one of these but sadly I think I’m a few years too old and creaky.
I like the comments on here about the harsh ride. We’ve owned our 18 plate Focus ST3 from new and are used to the ride obviously. Last year I asked my son to give it a run round while we were on holiday abroad and when we came back he said bloody hell dad that’s a hard ride. I found it funny considering he sold Lotus, Alfas and Maseratis for several years before moving onto selling motorbikes.
