Bought this back in December. Always been a BMW touring fan. Been looking for a long time, but was never in a rush to buy one to replace an excellent E91 325d.
When this one became available with an excellent spec a deal was struck.

Was on 47k when I bought it, had recently had new brakes and tyres all around and a fresh service which was a big bonus.
Its currently on H&R springs and rides awful. Hoping to upgrade to the Birds kit soon.

Some of my older tourings

E30 325i

E36 328i

E39 530i

E91 325d

Lovely list of tourers there man! Pretty epic

How do you find it vs the E91? I am currently torn between a F31 or an E91 for a fairly cheapish daily tank

Welcome to the F31 club (and E39 touring club) wink

My previous E39 touring:

Current F31:

I take it your 335D is xDrive? Personally I'd upgrade the shocks too; Evolve have developed some new shocks for the xDrive motors with Bilstein; they'll work superbly with the ACS springs

Mines RWD - So Bilstein B4S shocks with Eibach pro-kit springs have made for a superb change over the OEM M Sport suspension, plus the 18" wheels and tyres make it a comfier, smoother ride

Nice car's, hope you get the ride to an acceptable level for you as that's the main reason why I sold mine a couple of years ago.

Do I miss it - nope, would I have another - nope.
Like most things it's all relative, in so much as to what you've experienced before and what you are looking for.

Enjoy.

For a cheap daily, I'd definitely be looking for an E91. You'll have a better E91 than the equivalent priced F31.
I loved my E91.

Nice cars 👍

The Birds kit is shocks and springs. Nice choice on the wheels, our addiction to bigger wheels has made for some bad rides .

What suspension did yours run?

Problem with these H&R springs is not being matched. Its constantly on the bump stops.

Sorry, misread Birds (for some reason thought it was ACS) - not a fan of Birds personally; very expensive for what they are and little difference in feel and ride to what I fitted

And agree; 19s for me would be square in no time with the local rural roads here in Lancashire; it's a brave person that runs 20s on these

I run 18" 405Ms for summers and 18" 397s for winters; 235/45/18 tyres all round - takes the horrible roads superbly

I’ve recently picked up a F31 330d xdrive on 19s and H&R springs. They’re great, on smooth roads. Fairly useless in the UK then. Such good cars, I’m loving mine, apart from sunken drain covers, potholes, speed humps, basically anything that needs suspension travel biggrin

H&R springs are too stiff for the UK roads - changing them would do well for the car if you're finding them too stiff

As another user has said, its ok on nice smooth roads, but as we all know, we dont have those very often.

Quick upgrade done this morning. Original buyer didnt option heated steering wheel. But...

...having this

Means the wheel already has the heating element fitted.

Smidge over £100 for some genuine new parts

Swop some parts over

Fitted

Some quick coding

Job done

Lovely stuff - missed mine from my previous F01 - but the wheel in the F31 is alcantara now, so no cold leather in the winter wink

That’s a great addition for the money.

Just sold my F31 335d. It was on Bilstein B8 and H&R. Ultimately it was the roads round me that I grew tired of rather than the car.
