Sensing the need for a large estate and previously owned a Golf Alltrack, I was looking for something large and not a land rover. I found this audi A6 from my local dealer last year which ticked a fair few boxes.

Air suspension
Matrix headlights
Black on silver Interior
Large rear boot.
Virtual cockpit

Service history was immaculate. Serviced every 9,000 miles at dealership. Replacement front disks and pads were also done at the dealership.

First job was to machine polish and ceramic coat. Roughly cost £40 for the new pads. I already had the polish in the garage and chose Gyeon Syncro.

Quite labour intensive. The process took 5 days

Wash
Decontaminate with clay bar
Medium cut polish
Fine cut polish
Degrease all the polishing oils
Apply 2 coats of mohs
Apply 2 coats of skin
Then did not let it get wet for 7 days.

The upmost important item when ceramic coating is the wipe off. It's got to be done with 2 sides of a plush microfibre until there are no streaks at all. Leaving any streaks will not wash off. They will need to be polished or sometimes wet sanded out. I took great care in this since my Boxster still has one or two bits (that I haven't got round to fixing yet).

Ooh, I wanted a C8 Allroad to replace my second C7 but they had dropped making it and used prices were madly high. So I bought a new S6 Avant instead but whenever I see an Allroad I still think it’s the best looking C8.

While I don’t regret the S6 after nearly 50k miles, I’ll look forward to reading your experiences. Being able to raise the suspension and take a green lane was sometimes very valuable.
