I’ll put this in a Reader’s Cars thread if there’s any interest.

Father-in-law/wife’s godfather messaged asking me if I’d be interested in a project…yes I am!

I’ve been looking for something to tinker with for a while, but have very little disposable at the moment as recently moved and baby is (hopefully) on the way. I’d love to have bought a Boxster, but I don’t have the few grand to spare for an entry-level project, and my single garage (stipulation of the move!) is also a workshop and kind of utility room.

Therefore, any project needed to be a) cheap and b) small.

Enter what I’m picking up later. Guess what it is. It’s French, been in the family friend’s garage for the last 40 years without being started, has 1.4bhp, and does 25mph flat out.

Hopefully picking it up tonight….if it fits.

It would be a very ill R5 or 2CV to produce such a minimal power output!

Having said that, having not been started in 40 years, it won’t be producing anything for rather a while, I fear.

Even the very first 2CV's put out circa 9hp, going to a heady 29 for the last ones with the 602cc power house of an engine.

Asyou mentioned the reader's cars thread, I'm going to assume four wheels, so one of them little cyclecar things the French like that you can drive on a moped licence.
ETA, 'Voiture sans Permit' which can be driven at age 14!

Very nice! (Or, it will be!) Looks like you might become well acquainted with Malcolm at Classic Moped Spares (highly recommended!) over the next few months/years...

Years. Definitely years! And thanks. I’m trying to visualise what it might be, not what it is. Still, glad it fitted in the back of the work Transit!
