Evening,

Picked up this 2018 991.2 Turbo S this week. Good spec, fantastic condition with full Porsche history and 18months Porsche warranty.

It was purchased as a daily driver and will assist me in dropping the 2 two little ones to school each morning and nipping into work afterwards.

I have had a 991.1 C2S previously and had my heart set on a 992 Turbo. However the 991.2 has always been a firm favourite - less bloated and digital than the 992.

When this example came up I couldn’t help myself, buying and bringing home on the same day.

It goes without saying that it’s a rocket ship and suits my requirements perfectly!

My girls are 7 and 10 and yes a bigger car would have been more practical for the school run - but as budding petrolheads themselves (and spotting every Porsche on the roads!) I thought it would be much more fun!

Not managed to get any decent pics yet as the weather has been crap.

Cheers.

Agate grey… not normally my cuppa (Spesh with the black rims). But the grey will be very practical as a daily as it should hide a lot of dirt!

It also has the aerokit, which appears to be a pretty rare option.

Going to go and sit in the car and press some buttons like we do!!

991 in my eyes is peak 911 looks-wise, and the .2 an improvement over the.1. It’s why I still have my Carrera T after five years.

Great car. Enjoy!

Seeing as your daughters are budding petrolheads they shouldn't care about a lack of practicality when they get dropped off at school in that!

I know nothing about Porches, but that is lovely thumbup

I like the wheels as they are; suit the car well... But wonder what they'd look like in a bright silver too...

Best part of 600hp, 4WD and you can imagine the rest! The wheels have grown on me already... this same wheel design is normally finished with a cut face, see below.

See pic, the yellow theme carries across inside - but not too crazy. Wasnt a fan when I first saw the pics, but it gives its something extra inside instead of boring black!

My 10yr old regularly takes a large sports holdall and it fits perfectly in the frunk!

As for a fast SUV, I am fortunate enough to have one of those too - namely an X5 50e (500bhp hybrid, still good for 60 in 4.5sec). But my wife has taken a shining for it now - and the poor thing has to listen to Taylor Swift on repeat! She always said it was too big to navigate our rural Somerset roads and bombed around in hatchbacks and minis, but the comfort has won her over!

In its own right the 50e is fantastic, you can hustle it down the road and give a lot of performance car owners a welcome shock! With the electric assistance its banging off the line! Again, wasnt a fan of the black wheels, but my dealer had this car in group stock - so sucked it up and now like them!

Ah that looks cool. I’ll have a proper browse later - for now they have a 25mph electric buggy to tear the field up!

Deffo leave them black wink I despise diamond cut wheels; no longevity to them at all...

It does look a superb motor; going to have to do some YouTube'ing now biggrin

First thing I did on my 991TS was change the wheels from black to shadow chrome, made a massive difference as you could actually make the design of the wheels out.

Mine is black though so they were even more lost.

There is one on AT at the moment (black) with similar wheels and it does look great! I will consider something like that - but don't want the whole thing to be grey'y!

Loved my 991.2 turbo s. Can easily be used as a daily, great all round car, they seem to do most things really well.

Don’t know where your based but Genome Porsche are great for servicing, much cheaper than main dealers, they have based in Wakefield.

Any thoughts about tuning it or keeping it standard

The prob I have is that the car has an impeccable history. Supplied by dealer X and all servicing has been via them also - plus the car has a lot of warranty.
So whilst I love an indie, it kind of makes sense to keep the history up...

As for tuning, I would prob only consider a stage 1 map and possibly a tame exhaust system - but again it would be a shame to void the warranty etc. So not sure as of yet... did you tune yours?

Yeah I get that with the Porsche service history. In regards to the warranty, Genome offer a comprehensive warranty package that covers modified cars for warranty which is up there with main dealer warranty cover.

I ended up going downpipes and remap and pushing 700bhp and was an animal once tuned.
