Hellour wonder if I could just read your meter

That's enough of that joke.

My doblo needs a fair bit of work doing to it and the 3 buckled wheels that came up in pre mot inspection have put it into possibly uneconomical to repair category.

Been after a caddy for a few months. One sold days before Christmas which I was a bit gutted about. Been after a MK4,not so high milage 2.0d. Maxi life would have been ideal but out of budget. Wheelchair accessible ones were an option but can't put a tow bar on and the ones in my budget didn't look great. A van I was on the fence with as higher tax, more to insure lower speeds limits and can only do one tip run a month which is a pita when renovating a house.

Options were limited so a van it was and with the doblo going for spares I needed something sooner rather than later. Wanted the one local before Christmas but it sold with in a day. A few cat S cars with low milage popped up in budget but as luck this popped up half hour up the road. And as luck would have it again the previous owner has done some of the bits I wanted to do saving me ££££. BG vans are well looked after and this is great condition. Lovely owner to. He gave me his lowest price and I accepted. I think losing his pride and joy was enough without someone driving him to hard.

Jobs done
Lining rear along with insulation seats, cruise control, wheels. Mopped and polished., headunit with reverse camera

Jobs to done
New number plates (ordered) current ones need renewing as the screws are rusty
Fix sliding door central locking mech
Get android auto working
Wind deflector for windows. More cosmetic tbh but ordered.
The lights in the back are the wrong way around. The 4 additional ones come on with the door opening and the tiny roof one is manual
Finish the bench
Side windows which will be a summer job.
Lower it or swap to standard coils. The back is quite high as BG vans have strengthened coils.

Some graphics as it's pretty slabby and the blue needs breaking up.

The swamper/overlander look is quite appealing.

(I'll sort typos later when I've got my glasses)

Very nice. I quite like the BG colour too. I went down a bit of a rabbit hole the other day, looking at Caddy's on Facebook. Ended up looking at a company called TMG vans who do some very nice conversions, including one that was sold for £110k eek They do seem to lend themselves rather well to either the GTI look or go the other way and do the swamper thing. The lwb ones in particular seem to quite roomy inside.

Fantastic. I’ve got a 2009 Caddy, which is a work in progress. How do you find the Audi seats? They are one of the options I am looking at as the original seats are dreadful and I need proper lumbar support. Are they on Touran bases?

Following thread with interest.

Seats are comfy and yes on Touran bases. I've not sat on standard seats but know they sit a little higher than standard. Im short with short legs so its taking me some getting used to the throttle pedal being floor mounted and the clutch which is a little high tbh. I think they are heated seats judging by number of wires so going to see if I can wire them up. Ive not tested the dog in the seats yet. He hated the doblo seats. Volvo seats are his favourite so far

I did see that. Wonder who was mental enough to pay that yikes. The swamper look appeals more with the roads in such a state. ive had enough of pothole damaged wheels and suspension. Brentcare insurance im free to modify as i like to (excluding big bhp gains) so all good either way

If you are struggling, from what I’ve read on the forums “stan the vw man” is your man for bespoke wiring harnesses for caddy seat upgrades.

That looks quite nice and of course super duper practical. Obvs it’s not to important but what sort of shove do you get from the engine?
