So, having sold my nc recaro last year I've been looking for a nice mk1...it's harder than you think finding one...anyhow I found a suitable candidate at my local ish mx5 specialist, I called to book an appointment to view, guy there told me they had another one in the showroom which had just come into stock so 2 to choose from, the one that had just arrived had an incredibly low 7800 miles on the clock, 1 owner, fsh and every bit of paperwork you'd want to see right back to the original handover document, I'd set my mind on an early mk1 which is what I originally called about but this car i just couldn't ignore, it's super basic still wearing it's original steelies which I hated when I first saw it but they've rather grown on me since...very baby elan...so a deal was done and she's now sat in my garage, here's a few pictures, hope you like

Basically new!

Nice find, I bet the hunt was interesting, and I hope that ownership is enjoyable. As mentioned on the Chris Harris podcast yesterday, these look great with the hardtop on.

V. envious of your clean arches!

I do like the original MX5.

Unfortunately all the subsequent editions, like all cars, got bloated and less desirable.

Looks lovely, do you have any plans for it?

Are they 14 inch wheels? If so I can recommend the Vredestein Sportrac tyre.

Back when they were still new I bought one for Mrs21 for her birthday, she obviously loved it. We then found out she was pregnant and she gave up work so I got to blast around in her new MX-5 for the summer.

Great little cars, love to have one as a track toy.

Keeping it as intended, yeah I think they're 14's, it had 4 new tyres in 2021, Hancooks I think

That looks really smart and seems barely run-in!

Although I'd be slightly concerned about the overspray in the wheelarch in your last couple of photos.
