Collected this yesterday.

I had been waiting for the right spec car since Christmas. I wanted; Clubsport pack, PDK, dual zone climate, either shark or gentian blue, yellow sticking, leather dash, sports chrono, rear camera, FPSH and Porsche warranty. Everything that came up matching that was either over budget, sold before it was advertised or sold the day it was advertised. I even lost out on a car to Jay Kay, cool story, bro.

I left my details and requirements with the likes of RPM and JZM in the hope of a call before a car was advertised.

There was some time pressure. I naively booked a track day at the 'ring this bank holiday Monday, back in December, thinking that's plenty of time.

Fast forward to last week and this car came up. Immediately placed a deposit. Being on a private plate, it meant waiting for the V5 to arrive, which it did, yesterday. Today I'm driving down to the Eurotunnel.

What's next? I don't like the black wheels and want to change them to either silver or grey. Hopefully more track days and some Manthey sprinkles too.

Gentian blue is superb, nice choice. Have a look at weiss gold alloys with it if you don't like black, seen one and it looked epic.

Eurotunnel was chaos on Saturday with 4-5hr delays at lunchtime but by the time I got there, I ended on the next train. The loaders tried putting me in the narrow and tight carriage despite the car being flagged at point of booking needing a wider, single deck carriage.

Surprisingly fuel efficiency on the motorway, MPG in mid-30s and the first car I've managed to drive from home (Herts) to the 'ring on one tank of fuel.

Track day was great as always, Darren and the DN team do a great job. Darren had hired the skid pan and kick plate for the sign on so we were all skidding around in both a controlled and uncontrolled way. It has been 10 years since my last DN, and jeez, the pace has increased with 992 GT3RSs teleporting into my rear view mirror. I was slow, not helped by driving a car I could still count my ownership in hours, and not driven the track in 10 years.

Had a chap walk over to me in the 'ring carpark on the track day... he was the car's first owner.

Now incredibly bored at the Eurotunnel terminal. Aimed to get an earlier train like I used to, I was offered an earlier train for €90 or my booked train... I'll wait.
