Evening, thought I would detail my journey with a F-Pace SVR, as not too much about them.

Summary:

Its a 2024 model year (started in September 2023), so a few changes in spec from older facelift vehicles, but this one is not a 575, only a lowly 550ps!

So far been on a few adventures, been on a few family trips, and went over to Germany where had a tour of AMG manufacturing plant, followed by driving a few AMG's through the German countryside on a AMG Experience.

Didn't expect to cover so much mileage - over 5k in 6 months. This will die down now, and could of done without high petrol prices.

Why a SVR?

Test drove a few cars, tried the merc e class E53 amg, I liked it, but I have always wanted a v8 - blame my wife for that as we always get a v8 in america when we go.

Drove a SQ8 - while I thought it was a good car, it didn't have what I wanted - probably better built than the Jag, but it didn't have enough v8 noise for me.

Drove a BMW M550i and again, very nice car, but I just didn't quite gel with it, again the noise was ok, but wasn't really what I was after, and after trying the F Pace SVR 2 days beforehand, I just knew.

Tried to get a test drive of a GLC63 AMG - but I got tired of waiting for the dealer to get back to me, then it needed servicing, then it wasn't prepped etc, so I didn't bother (drive C63 with the same engine before)

Also test drove a E63 - this was on a 68 plate - I did really like it, but waited too long and someone else snapped it up.

Few likes and dislikes, so the likes first - my golf r was actually louder (and was standard) being the estate it doesn't have the flaps like the hatchback so is always in loud mode, but the V8 noise is totally different, and the supercharger whine still makes me giggle like a schoolboy. It doesn't half shift, and actually in my driving so far, it out handles the golf. First time I have had heads up display - love it. Did I mention the noise?

Dislikes, the sunroof won't close with one push of the button when ignition off - you have to hold it, first world problems. Have a few creaks, and the active noise cancelling is giving me high pitched noises occasionally (its not me giggling like a school boy). Annoying it always starts in comfort - as I'm paying through the nose for fuel I want to hear it burn!

So come to trade in day, buy to the Golf R I had since new - and into the Jag.

Purchase mileage

First trip (back home from dealer) - took it gentle getting use to the car.

Some interior shots - wasn't sure at first - but actually enjoying the lighter interior

After first sort of wash:

Some trips - went to France with the family - this is our trip MPG covering mainly motorway - didn't hang about in france, sat at 80. 700 miles covered back in April 26

Nice trip to Germany - this was in June:

Mainly around town its closer to 14 mpg - the car does lie, or shall I say its over optimistic in the amount of fuel its burning.

My long term average according to my app is 22.972 mpg.

So far my best trip was up to Alton Towers, this was nearer to around 34 mpg than the 36 it states.

Got service coming up in september along with MOT - Jag prices have gone up - maybe to plug the loss of profit.

Before I went on holiday online was showing about £585, got back from holiday its now £717 - same service etc.

Note to self - make sure you book service next year in July rather than August.

Car has Jag 2 year warranty - hence the service with them - just easier and its about 10 miles from me, so not too bad dropping off etc.

That is a damn rude service price increase.

Lovely car, how do you find the seats and their adjustment? And was the 25bhp loss on facelift a GPF thing? Although it seems late for that...
