Just thought id share some pics of my M3 track car which I have been building over the last year.
As i brought it in Jan.

Started buying bits :-)

Then fitted the steering wheel and removed the carpets ready for the cage.

Fabricage custom bolt in rollcage fitted

Carpets re fitted, seats and harness's fitted and rollcage painted

Brakes and suspension and eisenmann exhaust fitted

Wheels refurbished and new tyres fitted

The finshed product, with black kidney grilles and sun visor fitted.

And at the ring where it acheived a 8.22 lap!!

Not really been going for the past 5 years, guess ive done about 30ish laps now.
The reason for the carpets is to try and keep some creature comforts for the long journeys over to Germany, hence why it still has a stereo and air con too. The idea of the car is based on a gt3 clubsport!

would it make it any more fun to be a few seconds quicker (if that), but be deaf and uncomfotable from the drive over.... nope.
I think it's done just right.. got it where it counts (grip, stop, go, secure location of driver, and a bit of saftey), and still usable as a car not just a toy.
I'd love to do something similar myself someday.....
