After three years of hoonery in the ST, it's time to acquiesce to the crushing inevitability of the necessity to go diesel thanks to the miles I do and the constraints of the car scheme I'm in. 200 miles on the clock now and it's already great fun to drive. A mate of mine took some cool pictures last night which I thought I'd share.

have you had a look at the kind of second hand M3 you could have had for the same cash! yes it will 2/3 yrs old in comparison and cost a bit more in fuel, but is it really going to cost more that much more to service and maintain???
still i guess its the halo effect that made you buy the car any way?

If you read the original post, you'll see I had some constraints due it being a company car, albeit on a clever COS scheme. Nothing to do with 'halo' effects. I don't pay for servicing, tyres, insurance etc but I DO have to subsidise any fuel over and above what I can claim back.Thanks to all the others who've commented positively, it's a great car and I look forward to having many fun miles behind the wheel!
Someone asked about the 'goldfish bowl' effect; it was achieved with a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens. The camera was a Canon 5d Mk2 and the other lens was a Canon 50mm F1.8 with polarising filter.

The cupholders come as part of the 'Comfort Pack' I think.. As for the tyres, they're horrendous on the 123d with 18s as it runs strange sizes; 215/40/18 on the front and 245/35/18 on the rear. I think the rears are getting on for £200 each..

The 1's are very competent cars, but I still can't get my head around the breadvan look and Bangle's flame surface design ethos.
Be interested to know if a few weeks how it compares to the Blue Oval (I know they're very different cars) and in particular what you think of the perceived quality difference between the two marques.
