Hello people of Pistonheads!
I've been reading the forums on here for a while now and I thought it was about time I joined up and started contributing. I'm Dave, I'm almost 24 years old and I live just outside Coventry. I blame my dad for my love of cars, He worked for Ford when I was a kid so I pretty much grew up in a showroom and he always had Cossies. Here is my car history so far, I've not included some of the run arounds I've had as they are pretty boring!

My first car was a Fiat Cinquecento sporting. Not the most exciting of cars but I loved it and it was great for a first car. I didn't really do anything to improve it as it was my first car and I just wanted to build up some NCB. I must admit i did upgrade the terrible standard stereo smile

My second car, and I hate to admit this, was a 1.1 206 with a full bodykit, huge stereo and an exhaust that made small children cry. I bought the car from a friend and had it for about 6 months before selling it on and making a bit of money on it. I can't make any excuses really, I was young and thought it was cool at the time.

Luckily I now had a years NCB so could afford to get something a bit sportier. I discovered a love for Japanese cars and decided to get myself an EG (92-95 shape) Civic VTI. I searched for ages to find a decent one but due to their age they all seemed to have done lots of miles and be rusting to bits. In the end I decided to go for the JDM spec Civic SiR II. It cost me a lot more on insurance because it was an import but she'd only done about 55k miles and was in great shape. The JDM spec car also had a little extra power (170ps) and LSD as standard. I modified the car slightly by adding a carbon fibre bonnet, coilovers, 15" Matt Black Rota Slipstreams, Spoon N1 Exhaust etc. The car was quick and handled really well, it's probably the only car that I actually regret selling. Here are a few pics:

I ended up trading the civic for a DC2 ITR. It's a great car but I couldn't really get on with it and my mum ended up having it. I'm not sure what it was about the teg but it just wasn't really me. Once again, a few pics:

I decided to get another civic after the teg and ended up with another Civic SiR. This one had a few more rare mods including spoon braces, J's Racing splitter, Spoon Suspension, ITR Seats, 5Zigen exhaust, Mugen wheels, Carbon Bonnet (not in the pics), Carbon rear tailgate, Carbon spoiler etc. A few pics:

I loved the black civic but wanted to get away from the boy racer hatchback stereotype. I had a little extra cash as I was doing ok at work so decided I wanted to get something a little different. I opted for a S1 Elise. I absolutely loved this car but running it as my main car was difficult. The car was fairly standard apart from an upgraded exhaust that the previous owner had installed. Pics:

I needed something with a boot as well for all my camera gear (long story) so I managed to pick up this civic ESI to use as a daily driver. Fairly standard apart from being recently resprayed, black EK VTI wheels, lowered on springs and an uprated exhaust. I really wish I could have kept this and made a track project but funds didn't allow. Pic:

About a year ago now I sold the Elise and Civic and got myself a Mazda RX8 (231bhp Model). Not really much to say about the rex really, it's quick and practical but doesn't half drink fuel! Luckily I don't really do many miles at the minute so I don't have massive fuel bills.

I'm now in the position where I'm changing career and I'm going to have a little extra cash but also going to be using a car a lot more so the RX8 just isn't going to be an option. I'm looking to get a convertible again and the top three on my list are a 3.0ltr BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster or Honda S2000. I've not driven any of them yet so I'm going to be booking a few test drives and see which one fits me best smile

Thanks for taking the time to read, I hope I didn't bore you too much. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the forums and hopefully meeting some of you guys at some point!

Dave

Nice cars, especially the Integra.
Whats your budget for the new car & does it have to be a convertible?

Welcome mate, nice collection of cars. Im biased but I'd have a drive in a Boxster you'd like it. I had the same dilema before buying it and tried S2000s and Z4s but after driving Boxsters we went for the S.
