Change of car..... 56k no way

Its been a while since I've been actively posting here but thought I'd start again.

Since buying a house I've changed my Focus RS to a Ford Racing Puma....

Bought in October 08 looking like this:




Since then, have done the following:
-Fully detailed and machine polished entire car
-Fully restored interior, including new steering wheel and detail of seats (they were GRUBBY)and fitted blue alcantara gaiters
-ITG induction setup
-2 piece HiSpec discs
-Mintex C-tec m1144 pads
- Mud flaps fitted (protect newly polished paint!)
-New Piper stainless 4-1 manifold

-Underseal application & treatment to underside and arches with Bilt Hamber DeOxy gel
-Tracking
-Alcon calipers - rebuilt, cleaned and repainted
-New marine grade stainless Brake pistons fitted and new seals

-Various sensors replaced (MAF/ICV/Speed Sensor/HEGO
-New track orientated rubber
-Refurbed wheels and new custom wheel centres in stainless
-Mudflap decals showing build no and 'handbuild by Tickford'
-New Organic Clutch and release bearing
-Modifed S2 Escort LSD fitted into rebuilt IB5 gearbox
-Polybushed

So, what was supposed to be a 'cheap' car has cost £3k odd in the last 6 months... but despite the power deficit I love it. Awesome on track too.

Now looks like this.. not bad for a 95k mile car!

Very impressive Rob always had a soft spot for the racing puma (and puma's in general) A mate of mine had a turbo'd VCT Puma a few years ago Van Aaken conv couldn't believe the cornering speeds that thing could do enjoy it

Also not seen a racing puma before, are they a special edition, I noticed a LSD, the standard car didn't have one..

They are indeed a ltd edition - 500 made originally by Tickford for Ford.

Bit of info (source - wikipedia)

"The Ford Racing Puma was created by the Ford Rally specialist team at Boreham, lead by Peter Beattie. The production run was initially pencilled to run for 1000 units, 500 destined for the German market, 500 for the UK. All conversions were carried out by Tickford, Daventry UK. The vehicle featured a modified version of the 1.7 Zetec-S engine which produced 155 bhp (116 kW) and 119 ft·lbf (161 N·m) of torque. It could also accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.9 seconds. As well as this there were other modifications including wider bodywork and track front and rear, disc brakes to the rear and larger race-spec Alcon discs/4 pot calipers up front, Sparco bucket seats, blue Alcantara trim, 17" Speedline rims. Ultimately, Racing Puma was only sold in the right-hand drive format to the UK market. All were produced in Ford Racing Blue paint, (same as the paint used on Focus RS), which was otherwise not available on Pumas in the UK market. Less than half were actually sold to customers due to the vehicle's high price/bhp often cited as a reason for this."

I doubt you'll see them on the road too often - due to write offs etc estimated to be 350 ish left...! The original 1000 never happened due to the Price: £23,000(!)

For the minimal extra power people didn't think it was worth it.

Mine is standard, bar the tweaks above - decatted too.

These things properly handle - for fwd the balance on the limit is spot on. The LSD I've added but some came from the factory with them (viscous coupling per S2 escort) as the 'track' option.
