Thought I would post up some pics of my MNR Vortx+ build, I collected my kit on the 26th Jan this year and built it ready for SVA in 12 weekends.

The car is fitted with a race tuned R1 (2003) pushing out around 180bhp, the chassis is the '+' version of the Vortx which is their race type chassis with fully rose jointed suspension.

Yes I bought it ready prepped, it has had the head re-worked along with uprated cams and a bit of work to the crank - I plan on getting it fully mapped on the rollers in September so will (hopefully) be able to confirm it is what they say it is!

How did you find the MNR kit? Being of a larger than average size, these kits have always caught my eye due to the larger cockpit area.
I'd love to take something like this on but would struggle once it moved from "assembly" to "fabrication/modification". Did the kit need much fettling or was it pretty straight forward?

Bit cheeky to ask I know, but any comment on the ball park build cost?

One of the main reasons I went for the MNR was the lack of 'fettling' it basically just bolts together, there is obviously a lot of work involved with fitting the body work such as drilling/cutting around the front suspension arms / exhaust headers etc but that is it really.

I bought my Kit as a full package including all components including nuts and bolts; I had a few problems with missing/wrong bits and bobs but nothing too serious (without those problems I believe I could have built it in 8/9 weeks)

The size of the cockpit is not a problem for me as I am a 'Shore Tarse' so no problem what so ever for me!!!!

The MNR kit is by no way the cheapest of the kits (but one of the best), when I was initially looking at what kit to buy I ended up stuck between an MK and an MNR. You can build a MK for approx £3k ish less (when I was looking) than an MNR but then I did spec mine up with all the good bits and all new donor parts so would say it would cost around £12/13k but worth every penny

ETA: Just noticed you're in Berkshire, feel free to contact me if you would like to have a run out at any time

with out meaning to hi-jack, the MNR and MK are both very comprehensive and rewarding cars, esp at when you look at how much they cost.

Mine brand new built to my spec (disk brakes all round, same engine as above (5PW) paddle shift, digital dash, lots of carbon fibre, wheels and R888's quick release wheel etc etc) cost less to buy, insure and tax than a common E46 M3 with a few too many miles on it!

I use to own a Clio V6, but that was a pig to drive on track, this is just immense! my buddys who have a MegaBusa are even impressed with my MK.

Great built by the way mate, love the colour scheme and good luck on the rollers
