Not bad. Why have they painted the road without finishing it though? Bet that's slippy when wet.

Yep, concrete road. Not sure why, as all the other roads round here are tarmac...

Used to have a 2.0 a few years ago, coming from a 1.4 astra it was a big step, this felt so much more put together and had a bit of poke plus had everything on it ! Bargain for £2000 and about 40k on the clock

It is actually quite quick for what is is, although I have to say it is the dullest car I've driven and owned. But for me at the moment, I just need a car that gets me places, and this just does that.

Should be a pretty bulletproof runaround - looks in good nick too.

Completely off-topic, but you live on the same road as my parents!

Had a black P reg SRi a few years ago, good handling, comfortable, reliable and quick enough for a 5 door hatch.

Just a pity it got written off in a car park frown

Yep. You can almost see their house at the very back of the first picture.

Buying cheap cars is all about giving it battle scars. Did it win or did it lose?

Still going strong, mot is until november, so we'll have to wait until then to see if it gets another year of abuse.

Currently running a near identical car, an R plate 2.0se. SE gets leather and chrome door handles!!! woo hoo! Bought while looking for a decent car but a year later still here.

In some ways the worst car I've ever owned, in some ways the best. Did I really say that? Not missed a beat in 10k miles in the year I've had it. Two part worn tyres and a wiper blade is all its needed for the grand sum of £795.

Dull to drive and look at but great because I don't care about it so is a perfect supermarket/B&Q car. Surprisingly quick too and eats up motorway miles with no hassle.

MOT is due next month so a major bill will send it to the scrappy which would be a shame as it's been a reliable old shed.

Yours looks like a good shed, though black SEs are faster....

Excellent. Should probably have bought something like that myself.

Mate of mine had one years ago. Bulletproof. Was abused beyond belief and just wouldn't go wrong.

An SE! Those door handles sound lovely!

Mine cost me about £400 to put through the MOT, welding, tyre and a new stater motor as it had packed up. I though I might as well as it is another year of cheap motoring. If it needs anything like that this year it will be going. But just scrapping it seem boring, I need to have some fun with it before it goes, any ideas?

Before it goes, do a lovely top gear challenge. Rag it about till it dies and just lightly bump into everything as you have been doing. I want to check back at this thread before it goes, and I don't want to see one straight panel on it! :P
