......But its not supposed to be. I know im going to get a lot of flak etc but to be honest it doesnt bother me, I just simply enjoy doing something different to everyones redtop corsa/nova's and it seems to make people chuckle which in turn I hope brightens up their day a tad.
So here is my vectra which is not a track day car as such, just a road car that I can take onto the track if I feel like it. The reason I didnt start with a V6 is because there would be too much weight over the nose and more to the point this one only cost £100 with a bit of T&T on it
As a purple runabout
Painted matte black with every intention as a runabout
I got bored and stripped it out after that
Added a top spec carbon fibre cold air induction system
Fitted some cheap ebay coilovers
The onset of winter and the vectra heater's inability to blow anything other than artic air forced me to buy a miserable 306 diesel complete with a working heater so I took the vectra off the road and decided to use it as a winter project
I have so far sorted all the bushes, sorted any rust, half fitted a MK2 escort rear cage which I am just about finished and will begin the front half soon, taken the head off for light porting and to come up with a new inlet manifold to replace the silly variable one and made front and rear strut braces.

Next on the list is harnesses and seats, After that will be the inlet.

Anyway, cool Vectra (and i mean it!). It is certainly original.
Nice place to put that Air Filter too. I bet it loves all that hot heat from the radiator.
I have actually done 'some' work usually consisting of, going to shed, looking at car for a bit then procedding to loosen a bolt only to re-tighten it then go back up to the house and have a cuppa. But there is a slight bit of progress
Welded up the holes for the side repeaters(I will be fitting side repeaters just not the orignal vauxh ones)
redone the cage
oh and investigated the silly variable inlet
I have done some other things too but the pictures are on my phone, namely reassembled the front end a bit(rad front crossmember etc)and discovered a broken thingy on the cylinder head.

Bought this car to get all the little parts I cant be arsed buying seperately(huge list of MOT fails and has been shunted front and rear, repaired badly)
Transfered some of the facelift parts over
Fitted the 5 stud hubs
Discovered that the donor car has bigger brakes which is a nice boost

No more than 45 degrees from horizontal, or so I am led to believe by most folks I have spoken to.
ETA: there is possibilty of then getting shifted up a bit or a bar across the 2 main struts on the cage to get the belt horizontal at the back of the seats.
