Evening all,

Not everyones cup of tea but after 5 years of running around in a 1400cc sunny I finally acquired a Pulsar just before christmas.

Spec is nothing special, mostly standard aside from magnex exhaust, chassis dynamics springs and helix organic clutch.

Bodywork has seen better days with a fair share of dings and rusty bits but as it's parked on the street it's better that way.

Future plans are to strip it to a shell, paint it ibis white and build it for fast road/track, need to find myself a lockup/unit nearby first however! Looking forward to this as it will allow me to get a V8 barge for daily driving duties. driving

On to the pics!

Looked into getting one of these, you don't see very many of these as nice as this. Perhaps too nice to track, would be a shame I think?

I've teased myself with one of these so many times. I'm planning to own one of every drive-train configuration before I settle down and a pulsar was so nearly 'Miss 4x4 Turbo'.

In the end I botttled it and went for a scooby - but I'd still very much like to own a GTI-R.

Great choice of track weapon. I prefer it black though. smile

these are mental cars you'll love it, just watch the gearbox they are pricey if they break.

I've always liked the Pulsar. A friend owned one and once he'd sorted the brakes it was a bit of a weapon. Until it ate the gearbox....

Nice to see a 'almost' standard one.

Although it doesn't sound like it's going to stay like that for long!

looks nice, personally i would want to keep it black with just some nice wheels and brakes and perhaps tune it up unless its already quick enough.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I'm pretty chuffed with it and it's going to tick over to 1000 miles since purchase today when I take the missus to the beach. driving

Not to worried about the gearbox at the moment due to it being on standard boost, I don't launch cars either so it should be fine. Im hoping to save the pennies for an uprated gear set anyway, but that's always easier said than done!

The pictures really do it justice, up close it's a bit rough, if it was a fresh import with no rust and standard, or a genuine good nick UK car I would agree, but this one has seen better days and from what I can tell it has been modified in the past but reverted back to almost standard before the sale.

Also whatever I do with it the exterior will remain as standard as possible, with the exception of nicer wheels, there will be no gaping holes in the front bumper for a front mount on this car!

Also at 23 I wanted a standard(ish) car to help with the insurance!

They do look good in black but I have always fancied a white or red one. Brakes are a must, everyone goes on about the rubbish brakes but you don't realise just quite how rubbish they are until you try to stop!

I have had one since October 09 and have spent a fair few quid getting it set up right, just got it back from TDI and its an awesome little car.

Whatever you choose to do or not do to the car they are great fun.

Mmm yeah had to have new brakes, swirl pot plus extra fuel pump fitted and re-mapped after the last trackday and a trackday booked for Saturday; should be fun woohoo

(OP sorry for the thread drift)

How are these insurance wise?

Just for when I'm older.

In line with Subarus and EVOs. I looked at getting one a couple of years ago. Aged 25 with 6yrs NCB, no fault accidents a clean license and living in the lowest risk group postcode, a lightly modded("stage one" if you will) Pulsar was around £1100 fully comp.

Absolutely! One of my most frightening moments as a passenger was in one of these (it was even black!) when the driver was pressing the middle pedal as hard as he could manage approaching a T junction with a hedge opposite, but nothing was happening! eek
