I will wait for the flaming to begin. Ive always wanted at some point to own one. And now do. This one infact........
I bought this expecting a wave of hate being levelled at me. Infact its been the opposite. Lots of people asking about(A lot about the fuel consumption)A few wanting pictures taken next to it. And on the roads people have been very courteous in letting me out from side turnings.
On the road its very comfortable.From the drivers seat with the low roof line and the thickness of the door trims. It actually feels like you are in an armoured vehicle. Fuel consumpstion is around 10-13 in town. And about 16-22 on a run.

Ok with fuel at £1.20 a litre near me today and im guessing this has a fuel tank the size of Iraq I cant help thinking this might be not the most economical buy at this time when darling has just doubled the road tax for a vehcile like this as well.

I was looking at these in the classifieds only yesterday as a bit of a left-field choice. I was a bit concerned re:repairs/servicing/parts availability, esp since Hummer are being killed off.
I'd be interested to hear of the the running costs or any problems etc you have.
Unfortunately I like them in Pewter, but that makes me think of a certain CSI........ YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Should've got a proper Hummer, not a mock-up on a Tahoe chassis.
I have quite a bit of experiance with the H1(albeit) ex-military ones. To be honest they are great if you are in to ex-army stuff. But more than a hnadful on UK roads. The H2 is wide. But a H1 at nearly 7ft 2 wide make a very difficult task on country lanes. Coulsd have killed myself a couple of times over trying to overtake slow moving traffic in a H1.Regarding the Tahoe chassis. Its just not restricted to the Tahoe and H2. But forms the basis for many other GM products. I have had it on a ramp. And can honestly say its well constructed. A bit like the H1 but on a slightly smaller scale.Should've got a proper Hummer, not a mock-up on a Tahoe chassis.

To me it's a bit like building a Defender lookalike on Freelander chassis just to sell it on the macho image of the former.

Mechanically they are bullet proof. The only thing that can take a hard time are suspension componants. No suprise cosidering the weight.The only thing that really goes wrong are the front wheel bearings. Which are a sealed unit that come complete with the hub. servicing like most american stuff is basically oil and filter changes. Pads and discs are quite reasonable and can be bought here. other stuff you can ordered from the states. I have to say that ordering stuff from the states is a rather painless affair,and very fast delivery times.
