Do the standard brakes really need extra ventilation?

I plan a brake upgrade next and the air scoop mouldings supplied in Milotec kit are ideal for extra venting. Some extra air can't harm!.

Well spotted !
They are seen on Scoobie's and Evo's but i discovered that the PCD is a perfect fit on late VAG 5xbolt once reamed out for VAG 14mm bolts and fitted with spigot adaptors. I love their spoke profile and low weight. You are the first person to notice and they have been on the car 19 months!.

Yes the remap transforms the 170bhp PD lump!. It's a great long haul motor.

How does the remap live with the DPF??

Has the car actually been on a dyno at all??

I'm thinking along these lines myself just need more traction

Hi.
The DPF isn't a problem generally as long as car gets driven briskly day to day and out of town traffic etc. Failure to regenerate can be a problem on cars driven sedately but generally remapping shouldn't be a problem.
The car has not been on a Dyno but Angel quote 205bhp and the grunt available leaves me in no doubt and the 0-60 times taken against stop watch bear this out though it's the midd range where it's transformed with all the extra torque. The rev limiter trips in approx 500 rpm later too which has increased top end and 0-60. The engine is totally under stressed when on the limit and it's the lack of drama that can see speed camara's flashing( I've been lucky so far!) but this is the best remap i've tried and can recommend it for any 170bhp VAG car.
I did have traction problems with STD suspension set up but the springs and Bilstein dampers have virtually eliminated it but i usually find that if i let the traffic light "GRAND PRIX" go i'm back up their Arse's once up the gears. My freind has a Scoobie and even he's impressed with it.
Soon i plan to have DPF removal and Custom Code remap at JBS in Derby which i am promised can take it near 240bhp, i'll keep progress posted on thread.

Cheers

My VRS was dyno'ed recently stock apart from a filter change so your 205hp might be conservative smile

Good choice of wheel, I love jap as fook wheels on euro cars, for some reason the contrast works really well.

Thanks for feedback.
I have heard that on the quiet that Skoda's figures can better VW's both in TDI AND TFSI. I wonder if " Big Brother" is aware of this!?. My car should be dyno'd when it goes in for DPF off so i'll see if they can take current readings prior to conversion and let you know.

Lovely looking car, really really want a VRS 170 as my next demonstrator, won't happen though frown.

Just out of pure curiosity is there a difference in handling between the standard 18's and the new ones? Not having a dig as I love those Jap spec wheels.

Hi.
The Ultralites have approx 15mm more offset than Std which i chose because i wanted to fill out the arches to give the car a bit more road presence. They are also lighter than std which along with the dampers and roll bars has really tightened it up. Not hard just a more composed version of the original car still retaining the Vrs's long haul refinement. It's low weight that counts at the hub end..

Cheers
Kooli'e.

Cool less weight is always good, they do seriously beef it up in the looks department.
