Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato - Rally car
Discussion
Hi all, I've just joined and thought I would share a few pics of my latest acquisition.
Its a 1998 Daihatsu, Cuore Avanzato, 659cc, 4cyl, 16v, twin-cam, turbo, intercooled, 4wd rally prepared kei car. The engine is currently standard except for a custom exhaust and raised rev limit (10k).
It was one of 20 prepared by Harry Hockly in the late '90's for a one make rally challenge series.

The pics are from last Tuesday (3/8/10) when I took it for my first track day, a novice day @ Cadwell Park, and it was great fun. Unsurprisingly I couldn't keep up with anything on the straights as it has something like 70hp. It is great fun through the bends though as its very small, very stiff, quite light and has 4wd.
I'm currently looking to fit a slightly bigger turbo, intercooler and then get it re-mapped. I'm not after anything silly, but would really like 100hp @ the wheels out of it ... which would be somewhere in the region of a 90% increase over stock (64hp @ fly ~53hp @ wheels)

Cheers guys, I've only had the car about a month, so not done any off road or anything else.
The car had the full treatment when it was done, stripped interior, FIA spec roll cage, 5 point harnesses, fuel and brake lines internal, kill switch, fire ext. system plumbed in etc.

patmahe: My daily is also a kei, Daihatsu Mira Classic, 659cc turbo, 4wd, it shares alot of components with this one but has 5drs and a 3cyl engine.
