Just picked it up today. Octavia vRS CR DSG Estate in resale silver smile

Previous owner ticked almost every option box as it has all the kit; sat-nav, parking sensors, xenons, privacy glass, bluetooth etc etc.

Haven't had much chance to put any miles on it, but so far, so good!

I do like these, but I have heard some horror stories about the VAG DSG 'box.

I'm trying to get my FIL to buy one of these and chop in his 54 plate 2.5TDi Superb

Yeah I'd be interested to know this too.
Nice motor btw, I do like understated estates with decent power. smile

There are horror stories about CR diesels, DMF, DPF and DSG. This car has them all so should self-destruct in around 28 minutes smile

I'm pretty relaxed about it, the car has over a year's manufacturers warranty left and extending it for another 2 isn't very expensive.

Hampshire constabulary use both hatches and estates as unmarked cars. On my short motorway trip back from the dealer yesterday, I thought I noticed a couple of cars overtake slowly and then shoot off once they realised I wasn't John Law.

Once I start commuting to work I might wear a white shirt, black tie and cruise around at 65 and see how big a queue I can form on the M3 smile

No offence taken smile

When I was choosing I did think about it but figured for every horror story there must be (hopefully) thousands of cars that have no problem.

Here's hoping I'm not unlucky!

I've had a VRs since Nov 08 and put 52k+ on mine. Manual, diesel and a few extras with no problems to report.

If I sit on the motorway (lane 1) at 68mph loads of people slowly go past me, which can be a royal pain in the arse if I'm waiting to pull out to overtake a lorry.

It's just "one of those things". Some people have put 600bhp through a mildly breathed on DSG box. Some have self destructed on standard power.
