Evening folks.
Though I would take the time to post some pics of my latest car, a 1996 BMW 328i SE. It cost me £1500 in April, since then I have had to replace
Rear Suspension Spring
Rear Shock Absorbers and top mounts
Radiator
Water Pump
and have added
E46 16" Alloys
Kenwood head unit
Fly 6 x 9's in adapters on the parcel shelf.
£2300 later and I am over the moon with it, they really are such a lovely car to drive. She's just taken me from Staffordshire to Liverpool Airport and back in complete comfort, from a hushed 90 lepton cruise to getting lost round John Lennon Airport (worst signposted Airport....ever), she handled it all in a way that belied her 14 years of age. She is on 106k and on Friday flew through her MOT, albeit with a couple of advisories (handbrake needs adjusting, slight play in front ball joints), but no major show-stoppers. She also has a full service history, along with a new engine from BMW at some point (presumably due to Nikasil).
Anyway on to the pics.
Like the next two, this pic was taken mid hoon across by the big Reservoir by Abbots Bromley.
A good friend keeps telling me to lose the towbar, however I kind of like. I think it adds to the whole Q-Carness of it, plus it makes a handy reversing sensor.....
Seen here with the other member of our fleet - the E46 320Cd. The E46 does look nicer granted, but I'd take the 328i every single time to drive. You just seem that much more connected to the road with the '36.
Never thought I'd see 40+ from it, although this did settle down by the end of the trip to 38.1. Still not bad for going on 3 litres...
Next jobs are to adjust the handbrake and replace some of the gear linkage bushes, as the change can get awfully sloppy at times. No issues engaging gears, it's just finding them that can be interesting sometimes....After that it's upgrade time, I'm thinking some upgraded door speakers and some Eibach springs, before getting busy looking at M50 manifold conversions and remaps. I think that will be some time away as believe me, she's fast enough already.

, but there's just something about numberplates starting with an "N" which looks "right"?

Looking back I have no idea, as I've just got back from Scouseland Airport and got 34 this time. What confuses me more is I got 38 when I had a leak in the fuel tank, that meant if you tried to fill it more than about 2/3rds full it would piss the rest of the petrol all over the forecourt.
