Ive heard the quad cam 3 litre twin turbo v6 is easy to work on (Comes apart with only a pozi screwdriver and a 19mm spanner.) along with the 4 wheel steering setup.

Not really, sounds like an absolute nightmare in a car that cost a grand.

Must say, quite a bargain you have there...

Thought I recognised that car.

The chippy at the end of your road is nice wink (I live about 1/2 a mile away... small world!)

I've followed you into Warton once as well, do you work there?

3 out of 4 cars japanese - nice nice.
GTO was cheap-ish, if proves reliable - should provide plenty of fun.

I would not want to be putting 600bhp through a car that cost £1k.

haha why would that be, have u heard any reason why it was a grand?? it has been stood for 5 years before my brother gave it to me for a grand, it had a fresh engine rebuild befor it went in to storage, reciepts everything i have full service and i took it out of storage, it passed its mot , so ur reason for not makin a 1 grand car 600 bhp when there is nothing wrong with it,

That's just my opinion, you dont have to agree with it of course. What other modifications will you be doing in order to reach 550/600bhp?

well for a start when the engine was rebuilt it had forged pistons, had a 1mm thicker headgasket on to lower compression , alot has been done i can get the list and stick it up if you so wish, but i will be getting bigger turbos bigger intercooler, uprated fuel pump, mapped etc, he could of sold it for 5 grand if bits were done, he sold it to me that cheap because he missus had a kid on the way and he has lost intrest in cars,

Nice GTO smile

If I were you, I'd be getting myself over to the GTO UK owners club (http://www.gtouk.org.uk/), well worth joining and I'm sure there will be some helpful suggestions about the steering rack, turbo's etc. While I own one, I let my mechanic fix stuff (which hasn't been much thankfully), but the owners club forum is a mine of info, I often find the answers he needs.
