yeah the tax is slightly high but only £200 a year more than a older car with the same power.
petrol wise its not the best but not as bad as you might think.
i love the car, quick enough yet comfy and has loads of space.

I looked at one of these before getting my Spec B.
The MPG put me off - now I'm averaging 21 in the Leggy. I'm sure the Mazda couldn't have been worse...

lol you choose a subaru over a mazda to save fuel.
i would say 25mpg is normal and 30+ on a motorway being careful.

this fine car cost me £6800 from mazda with a years warrenty and only 45k on the clock.

Yeah. I was hearing horror stories of 17MPG though so I went for the Legacy - plus the estate layout makes it a very capable load lugger.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my car - best all rounder I've ever had but I do have a slight pang of what could have been when I see an MPS though..

well its quite a big heavy car but with its active 4wd and rear axle from the rx8 with lsd it handles very well. doesn't really get caught out by bumps unless there very close together and the grip it great wet or dry! id say it handles better than my skyline did!
turn off all the asissts and it will play around and power oversteer too.

I still can't work out why they never did an MPS estate. I'd have one like a shot if they did.

the problem is they only done 1800 normal cars and they wanted to keep it as rigid as possible and a power a saloon but i agree they might have sold more units if they gave more options.

i do think i was very lucky.
basicly i was showing them to my brother as he needed a car to transport his new family around in and he wanted something fcast so i suggested one of these. then the same day my mg zs broke down for the last time and i thought i need exactly the same type of car my brother needs with a baby due next week so i bought this one. i bought it within 20 hours of it being for sale and i got a good p/x price too, i picked it up 3 days later and the salesman had had over 25 calls on the car!
after having all sorts of cars r34 skyline, e46 330 msport, fiat coupe 20 vt , mg zs 180, mk1 escort rs2000 and so on this i think is the best car i have had it does everything i want from it!
