This is my 2002 Honda S2000. I've wanted one of these since they first came out, but it was only a couple of months ago that I was finally able to get one. I'm very pleased with it so far, its only done 45k from new and is in lovely condition. I'm happy with the performance and handling, and having done the tuning thing with my 200sx a few years back, I don't intend to do anything to this apart from getting an oem front lip spoiler, the later style 17" wheels, and also a CAI so I can enjoy the sound of the engine!

The only reason I want a CAI is because you don't lose any ponies like you do airbox-lidless

Yeah they are horrible things to insure on the whole, but I got a reasonable deal with Admiral now that my 20's are rapidly coming to an end! russy01 said:

Handling is great, plenty of grip and it communicates really well - I haven't pushed it that hard yet as I only use it at the weekends so haven't got completely used to it yet, plus at this time of year the roads can get a little slippery! 
I took the airbox lid off pretty much straight away so can't really comment if there is a difference, but from what I've read they can lose a couple of bhp and in the summer can get bogged down in traffic with the under-bonnet temps (which is why I am looking to get a CAI). Personally, considering my daily beater is a Seicento, this feels like a rocketship so a couple of bhp isn't going to make much difference, and the sound it makes makes it all worthwhile!t5monkey said:

VTEC comes in just before 6000rpm and that's when it really starts to shift and it flies towards the redline. As the gear ratios are nice and close, every time you shift up (from ~8000rpm on) you are still in the VTEC zone so it will keep pulling hard.I guess everyone is different, but I've never got the whole "lacks torque" thing with this car. My previous car was a Golf V6 (so very torquey) and I don't feel hard done by - sure if you floor it at 2000rpm and expect to be kicked in the back with acceleration like you would with a turbo then you may be disappointed, but pulls just as well as any other n/a 2.0 car at that point, and things keep getting better as the revs rise
I guess at the end of the day some people "get" the car and others don't, if you feel you need more mid-range punch then 350z or Z4 3.0 may be a better bet for you but you'd miss out on the manic top end, and (from my point of view) the way the car feels like a little race car with the agile handling, tight snappy gearshift, and driver focused cabin If it was me I would be looking to get the same tyres on all round, they are quite sensitive to tyre selection and looks like you have very different tread patterns front and rear on one side at least. Had one in the same year and colour myself, have you found the secret compartment yet?

I think it would be around 4k rpm at that sort of speed. There is a fair bit of wind noise, but it isn't too bad - providing you have the stereo on and aren't expecting it to be Jaaaag like refinement then it you should cope Crusoe said:

Yeah the backs are different to the fronts at the moment, changing them is on my list of things to do! A friend of mine had one a few years back, so I knew about the secret compartment - I found a leaking AA battery with a spiderman stuck to it in there!

Im considering going back to one car (currently have a TT & clio Trophy) & commute 90 miles a day.
I've only had it on the motorway for any length of time when I first picked it up, and only used about a third of tank on that journey, the other 2/3's were hooning around local roads - I got ~28mpg out of that tank, so I reckon you would probably see low 30s if you were just cruising along at that speed Im considering going back to one car (currently have a TT & clio Trophy) & commute 90 miles a day.
