Another mk2 golf gti!

Hi all, been posting here for a while but never worked out how to post pics until now so thought I would give it a go, using my phone so hopefully it works!
These were what it looked like when I picked it up, wasn't so keen on the jetta lights and grill so I reverted it to the proper golf lights and now she looks like this
The pics are from my phones camera so not the best quality (if they have worked at all)! The previous owner put a 2 litre bottom end in her but I seem to have broken this so am currently on the look out for a standard 1.8 8 valve pb motor to put back in her! The wife is trying to make me sell it but I can't bring myself to, I've always had a soft spot for these cars and this is the nicest one I've owned!

Forgot to add she has only covered 89k and came with almost every receipt she has ever had spent on her and she has also been the feature car in several performance VW magazines (back in the late nineties) and won several car shows around the same time, she needs a little bit of tlc to get back to that condition but I'm slowly but surely getting there
Found this under the bonnet pic on my phone so thought I would share it. I decided to sell the car so stuck it on eBay where it generated a lot of interest then with about 3 days of the auction Left it developed a knocking noise from the engine (I had previously replaced the big end shells and she was running sweet for ages) so I am definately now going to replace the engine with a standard 1.8 gti unit if anyone knows of a decent one for sale? Looks like it will then go back up for sale to fund the purchase of a mk3 vr6 golf with stupidly low mileage on it ( I started a topic about this a while back)
There seems to be a few golfs in readers cars at present so thought I would update mine with some pics and a new addition! I found a standard engine with only 54k genuine miles on it and fitted it with new cambelt/water pump etc etc and now the car runs like a dream! Surprisingly quick for a 20 year old hot hatch! Just need to tidy up the bodywork now!
And the new addition is a 5 door oak green 16valve run out model, it's covered 191k but the engine is sweet and pulls really well, just needs some tlc and some minor work to get it through it's mot, will probably move it on again after that as the wife won't let me keep them both!

The grey one was a great car but I've sold her on now! Was sad to see her go but I'm taking some comfort from the fact that she has gone to a good home, was a young lad that bought it but I could tell he was an enthusiast and wasn't just gonna rag the tits off it everywhere he went!
