Mini Clubman d
Discussion
Hi chaps
As you may have seen, I have posted on here before about my Clubman but I thought it was about time a did a little update!
I have been running around with it re-mapped now for 6 months or so and the results have been nothing short of fantastic! I popped in to see the guys at Evolve in Luton to see what options were available for the 1.6d PSA lump and they suggested a simple remap will see some great gains and keep the car standard looking from the outside.
As you can see from the dyno results, it provides a pretty healthy increase in both torque and BHP!
It really has transformed the drive, flexibility in 5th and 6th gears has improved massively with a decent pull from only 1600 rpm (which is about 50mph in 6th) meaning that you don't have to bother changing down when the motorway speed drops down. It makes it far more relaxing to drive and has increased the mpg by around 3mpg so far! I'm averaging around 58-59 mpg with mixed use.
Traction is now an issue in first and second gear but the increase in power has really brought the chassis alive so its a much more entertaining drive now. I did actually do some VBOX testing and the 50-70 times have reduced by over 2 seconds in gear, it just feels like a much larger diesel engine has been sneaked under the bonnet.
Next up I think some new springs and dampers will be in order, if anyone has any suggestions let me know!

The privacy glass is for exactly that reason, I carry quite a lot of stuff around so it keeps it safe I think it looks pretty cool with the black and white theme, I'd like to get some anthracite or black wheels for it, anyone fancy photoshopping the Cerb wheels onto the mini for me?
The Clubman is pretty big, my Cerb is on Nitrons so its rather low which doesn't help with the scale!
I used to get 56 mpg real world before the map, now I get 59 mpg (and it goes a lot quicker!).
I really recommend the Clubman, its a great daily drive and the mapped d engine offers ample performance with plenty of load space and a "premium" (I hate that phrase!) feel to the interior.
