After having a few sheds over the last year - a saxo VTR and a diesel E34 BMW, I decided enough was enough. Last november I bought this:

A 2003 Octavia VRS. Completely standard bar a boost gauge and meshed grille. Since buying it i have given it a full service and had the bonnet and bootlid resprayed to tidy it up. Also replaced the anti-rollbar bushes, droplinks and bottom arms to eradicate an annoying clunk, and a replacement cat as mine started to rattle. Plans include a detail and possibly a stage 1 remap in the future, insurance and cost depending.

Car has had a coat of Autoglym Super Resin polsih last week, and a coat of Poorboys Black Hole glaze tonight. It will get 3 or 4 coats of Dodo Juice Blue Velvet in the coming weeks, but not until I have got hold of some Tardis to clear the lower panels and then clayed it. Then it will get properly cleaned. Bodywork isn't perfect, but its relatively dent free. One of two small scuffs to fix, and ideally i want a few mods - remap and filter and possibly some interior tricks - guages etc, then call that it.

My dad had one of these in estate form and it was great. I still think they look really good. Not a fan of the front grill though - standard one de-chromed would be a better bet.
