yes very reliable.. the engines are timeless and i wouldn't hesitate at buying a high miler .. this one has 118k but ive bought one before at 170k and had 2 years great use out of it flying into europe etc.. without flinching

i got a good deal i think... they wanted 2k for it originally and the day before id seen a couple of older shape v70's with more miles for more money... the older ones are more coveted but not when they are sheds

"Dont like the newer shape though, poor visibility, too much thick intrusive dash and theyve gone all slushy and cumbersome" Have you now changed your opinion on this model?

Nope, still agree with all of that.. what an excellent summary ! An impressive find by your good self there.

They aren't nimble and solidly tied down like the phase 1 and yes, slushy and boat like is more the order of the day and definitely more modern. Think 993 to 996 and you start to get the picture. Problem is, finding a decent phase 1 is difficult and to be fair this was an urgent purchase that's more for occasional long distance so comfort is more the main requirment. I hope to chop it in for a phase2 V70r though when funds permit.
