I have a big soft spot for the original baby Merc. Have had ... er ... 5 of them (although none at the moment).

Looks to be in decent condition. The 190 forum is very active and worth joining for tips tricks and spares.

I had a red 1984 190e, 2.0, and she was surprisingly spritely. Handled very nicely, and felt like a tank. A bit tweedy inside, but I really liked it.

I'm thinking of using it as my daily driver for a while, looking through the history there is a bill from 2009 for £735! 36k service and a load of suspension bits & bobs. So I'm guessing I could get a while out of it yet.

I bought a 92' 190e 2.6 Sportline when I was a student in Boston, and it's still one of the best cars I've owned.

I had a late 190E 2.0 that I bought when I first moved to Luxembourg back in 1998. I ran it for 2 years, put over 120,000km on the clock and it never missed a beat.

The only 'problem' it had was maintaining speed on the E411 in the Ardennes on the long inclines. I usually had to drop down to 4th to get up tham at any speed.
