Another Volvo HEHE!
Discussion
Hi guys been on here a while now, had alfas, and mainly nippy little pocket rockets. But with a bit of influence from my step mum who used too test drive for volvo in sweden. I got this:

99 S40 T4 for those who dont know should run 200BHP as standard, this one after being on the rollers was actually pushing 220BHP on normal unleaded, which would suggest it has been mapped on super around 235BHP.

Plans are cosmetic at the moment. Matte blacked mirrors, grille, side lights, removed side strips, debadged, removed headlight wipers. started to completely strip it out, going to save as much weight as possible.

Had two huge exhaust boxes, so removed them and just put side exit in at the moment, this has reduced back ressure and now is slightly overfuelling so ordered pipercross panel filter for some more air.

Just need uprated pads and discs, supension kit, dump valve and ome decent tyres.
Plans are too use it for yearly ring trip and track days. First impressions are i love it, it surprises everyone, may have to invest in a quaife diff, as dont use the TCS so she tends to spin a bit, still suspension and tyre should help that. Been too wales and combe so far, good times.

Good man ! weight removal rules ! (my profile pic)
Looks like a capable project car and very nice overall, I have similar alloys to yours for my track wheels although mine are Genuine Calibra DTM lightweights (BBS)
Considered one of these or an 850 T5 as a track project but have since decided on a 2.5 or 2.8 E36 BM.
I like going sideways to much so It's time for me to purchase a RWD layout car.... not that FWD has ever stopped me going sideways

Ahh yea less weight is free, already started marking up all the metal i can take out of the doors, bonnet and boot. do you get to Combe often? I was gonna go for a scooby but insurance and too many being messed about with have put me off for the moment. desperately need better handling, like jackie stewart said, "straights are the boring bits between corners"

Precisely, Cut carefully it's far easier to take your time than go right through (that would be an explitive momment)Only been to Combe once, really enjoyed it.
Would like to go back at somepoint although the next few months are going to be hectic with LeMans , Goodwood and arrival of the BM to get sorted and done and then plan to be off to the 'Ring with a few mates twinned with SPA if there's a Trackday on around the time we are all free.
Absolutely Hardcore it dude ! nothing in it apart form clocks, seats , half cage and harnesses ... nothing else. Semi slicks , Coilovers, all braced, brakes. then you have yourself a serious weapon for the road and track.
yea i have seen that thread, he blew the engine due to the remap pouring into too much fuel.
The Scooby is a stunner, and not just any one, its mcrae edition RA, lightweight bits, shorter box, adjustable centre diff etc... the scooby is for sale very soon, early next week will be in classifieds.
I may after trip to ring in August Matte black the whole car lol.

Right update long time coming:
Panel filter arrived after a month! Pipercross were a nightmare too deal with. However the car seems too breath better.
Fully synthetic engine oil and genuine oil filter
Previous to this I had her on the rollers at 222BHP with normal unleaded, at a guess i would say it could have been mapped with high octane in.
Also ordered a few bits:
Black diamond fast road pads (front)
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/pr...
Black diamond 12 Groove discs (front)
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/pr...
Kalmar union/Forge dumpvalve kit
http://kalmar-union.com/parts/volvo-engine/
Enough 5.1 brake fluid too do the whole system which should give me better braking and it will last at higher temps for longer, plus doubt the fluid currently in it has ever been changed.
Hopefully have it all fitted by next weekend.
Both company are great too deal with. I have used europerformance for all of my cars. And the chap at Kalmar was really nice.
The Ovlov is still running great, she has driven me too Milton keynes from wiltshire for the past two weeks no issues. not just over 93,000miles
On the cards next month:
Tyres - Goodbye ditch finders, hello better handling
FK fixed rate shox & springs - 60mm/40mm hello even better handling
Pics as soon as i have done the work.

Yea 220bhp was enough, im just loosing alot of time under braking and cornering, but will soon sort that out.
Next track session is the nurburgring in August with a load of others. after that maybe a few airfield days, as they tend too be cheaper and less stuff too hit. Have to be carefull as its the every day car too.
