My Supercharged Wide Arch Mk1 MX5
Discussion
Right im back in an MX5!
Picked up the new car last night, and have to say a massive thanks to fellow Nutzer Andy :thumb-up: Properly top bloke, couldnt have asked for a better sale!
Now I had a white Mk1 on here before known as Nemo... however this met its end a few months ago. I then turned to a Lexus IS200, although it lasted merely a month as the urge for another '5 was too strong!
Heres the origional Nemo:

Now onto the new one! Its a 1998 UK 1.8 Mk1, and heres the spec (shamelessly copied from Andy's add!)
Engine:
Jackson racing supercharger kit with standard pulley fitted by Mark at OnlyMX5`s
Grade colder than standard NGK spark plugs fitted with supercharger
Power card fuel control
Bipes retarder to prevent detonation
Timing belt was changed at 70,000miles (along with crank/cam/rocker cover seals)
Water pump replaced at 70,000 miles
Heater matrix supply and return hoses replaced with uprated ones.
Fuel filter also done at 70,000 miles
Oil was changed 1000miles ago with 5w40 fully synthetic Motul oil.
Jackson racing oil cap
Drive Train/suspension
Exedy stage 1 clutch fitted at 70,000miles (along with gearbox seals and release bearing)
Gearbox and differential oil replaced with 75w90 at 70,000miles
Gaz Coilovers fitted, these were rebuild by Gaz 6months ago.
EBC dimpled and grooved disks all round with yellowstuff pads, less than 4000 miles on them.
TrLane Rear half cage fitted, was powder coated yellow less than 6 months ago.
XXR 513`s 15x7 and 15x8
Interior:
Leather mx5 seats fitted from import model with headrest speakers
Trust weighted gear knob
Carbon consol surround fitted
JDM Flare and holder
Cusco fly off handbrake fitted (proper mx5 fitment)
Airbag equipped steering wheel
Car has remote central locking with the alarm
Exterior:
Front Mazda badge smoothed off
Over fenders fitted
Zoom Fuel filler
Vented headlight cover
Metal registration plates with front offset
Datum rear tow hook
Hard top with heated rear windscreen
JDM reflectors and indicators
Osram nightbreaker headlight bulbs / led sidelight bulbs
TRS yellow tow strap
Now ive never driven an FI'd Mx5, tho was absolutely blown away with how much it improved the car... spend most of the drive home in second gear giggling away to myself
Future plans mainly depend how the finances go, although the car is pretty much there for me, think it looks great! So the main plan is to drive it and enjoy it
Any comments welcome, though obviously all the credit goes to Andy
(last pic shows the 2 Mk1's on the parents drive... their never happy when i come home with stupid cars! ... though my flat has no space so they've got to expect it! :P )

Cheers for the replies!
Am the same James, still have the Momo wheel out of my other Mk1 that could swap over, but theres a bit of fiddling involved as this car has a airbag boss which is different to the earlier cars.... but will have a go once im properly knowledged up what I need to do!
And to be honest, im only 20, and my mums only criteria for my new car was that it had an airbag! :P
But am loving the car, and anyone who has a stanadrd MX5, and is thinking of upgrading to something else... just bolt a 'charger onto it!
The car has made all those weeks of saving, juggling uni and a 9 hour nightshift 4 days a week worthwhile!
Only thing I can imagine swapping this for in the future will be a Z3m Coupe.. though that'll be a few years of fun inbetween now and then!

Car was bought from Glasgow, yes. Was from a fellow guy of MX5Nutz.com
You'll be surprised how good value these cars are. I didnt pay anything like as much as £4-5k though
Probubly worth thousands more in parts than they are whole!
Front lip would be lovely, have basically a toss between a GarageVary or OEM one, but to be honest, living in Edinburgh means its really not a practical idea as it'll last about 10 minutes! Car scrapes along pretty much every one of the several thousand speed bumps around town! I even managed to catch the front number plate whilst reversing down a slight dip in the road! :P
