Car looks amazing, apart from the new paint job. Great idea but the execution isn't quite there.
I think that you'd do well to follow the advice of the others: Use an overhead projector to project the image onto the side of the car and trace the image using a fine pencil or something. Then you can turn the OHP off and use your pencil lines as a guide for your 'free hand' painting. It will still have that character of being hand painted rather than stencilled, but the proportions of the designs will be right.
By the way, we're talking about an OverHead Projector, which uses clear plastic sheets of A4 which you can print onto, and then shine light through. This is considerably less expensive than using a video projector.
