Always good to read an update! Have you got much more to do before It's ready to go?
I have a few more bits still to fit and think im out of time to have it ready for this year .

I was looking at a late track day on the 11/12/2023 but it will not be ready in time for that so early next year is the new plan .

Small update to finish off the bracing on the car the last unit to go on was a rear OMP strut brace .

New OMP rear strut brace in matching Red to go with the roll cage .

And installed .

There is just about enough room to get a finger in to adjust the coilover adjusters .

Next for the car was to finish off the rear end as i have been waiting on some new OEM Honda spindles comin in from France and this was on a long back order .

The spindles on the original rear beam were past saving .

New Honda spindles .

I also ordered some Eibach rear camber shims to give - 2 deg of negitave rear camber .

Installed .

Next some new rear hubs , wheel bearings and bolts were ordered .

Then to finish off some new ABS rear sensors .

How do you find the Ridex parts? I've not used them before.

I’m interested too because I always thought it was cheap crap that will fail quickly. Seems at odds with all the fancy parts you are fitting to the car.

I have used Ridex parts for some time now on a few cars and not had a problem as they seem OEM quality but are a touch more expensive than other aftermarket brands .

TBH they do seem well made and if i cant get an Honda OEM of if it is silly money then i try and go for Ridex as the stuff i have had from them in the past is good IMHO .

I have been making good progress with this car but just ran out of time to get it on track this year ( this will now be two years from my last track day so hope i still know how to drive when i finally get back on track ) but the car is up and running so i took it to a grage i know to do a pre MOT inspection and all was fine apart from the emissions as they were way over on the HC and CO and as the fuel system was replaced ( new injectors , fuel pump , fuel filter ) and the O2 sensors were replaced for new units this pointed to the Cat being the cause of the fault .

So with this i took the car back hone and looked to order a new Cat and get the old unit removed .

Old cat removed .

New Cat .

I gave the new cat a quick tidy up with some XHT paint .

Then installed .

As i was removing the cat i thought i would also look to change out the Milltek exhaust as this is a touch loud for me with only having one silencer .

Old Milltek exhaust .

I ordered in a new Scorpion exhaust system with a center silencer .

And some new Exo Racing polyurethane exhaust hangers .

And new Cat exhaust snap ring and gaskets .

Then installed .

The scorpion is a great fit and not too loud so should be fine for noise limits on track .

This is a crazy build! It would be great to see some pictures of how the car is sitting when ready.

I loved my scorpion system on my ep3, I've loved my scorpion systems on all the cars I've had them on. Shame they dont do them for the Swift. Ironically I dont like miltek as had a few snap and fail yet I've got that on my swift as its all i could get

They are very nice and i have had a few on different cars .

It gives a nice little increase in noise but not too much where as the single back box Milltek was far too loud for me .

With most of the upgrades to the suspension nearly done i moved on to installing a few bits to the interior in the form of a few gauges .

First was to fit a volt meter gauge that doubles up as a USB / USBC charging port .

New Volt gauge .

This fits in place of the fag lighter with a little bit of cutting needing to the centre console .

Next was to look to install an oil temperature gauge and the best location looked to be the drivers heater air vent .

A new Prosport JDM 52 gauge was ordered along with a JNP oil temperature sensor and oil sump adaptor plug .

First was to remove most of the dash to gain access to the air vent .

Front air vent dash trim unit .

With access to the air vent the housing / air vent can be removed .

To mount the gauge i ordered a new Exoracing racing 52mm gauge holder that sits in place of the original air vent .

Then test fitted the Prosport gauge in the new housing .

Next was fitting the oil temp sensor and oil sump adaptor plug .

Then on to getting the wiring installed .

Next was to piggyback off two fuses for the permanent live and switched live .

Then all reassembled , installed and tested .

Last on the list was to also install a new Shadow D meter OBD2 gauge so i can get a correct reading on the coolant temps and also on the ETG , AFR , inlet temps etc .

New Shadow D gauge .

Then installed .

Quick vid of the unit in action .

https://youtu.be/5OruBDKRMQ0

And to finish off the two units installed .

Another small little update on the car and this time it was to install a fire stick .

First i ordered a 3D printed JED fire stick holder .

Next was to order a 50 second Fire safety stick .

Then on to mounting the mount in a accessible place if I ever need to use it .

The unit is now mounted on the roll cage behind the driver seat for ease assess .

I keep looking at firesticks for mine I may do it this year at last.

Re the Shadow D-Meter-2 I guess its the same as my ultra gauge reading things from obd2?

Re the JNP oil sensor have you any pics fitted as intrigued. If I can get oil temp via that I'm tempted to do it myself.

The Shadow D-Meter is a nice small little OBD2 gauge that reads data like a ultra gauge and you can set warning on the unit for coolant temps and EGT , AIT etc .

For the JNP sensor i will get some pictures but in essence the JNP probe goes in to a oil sump plug and that measures the temperature of tht oil and relays that back to the gauge .
