RAK 1T looks fantastic, and that Coupe replica looks like it will be stunning.
I'm not in the least bit jealous - well OK maybe a little bit.
Looking forward to the updates on the build.
not jealous? fk that! Jealous AF <grin> Seriously that's an impressive toy collection there - colourwise, red looks good, just not with black wheel (IMO) I'm not in the least bit jealous - well OK maybe a little bit.
Looking forward to the updates on the build.

Love the Cobra.....I assume it has a proper FE and top-loader in it..?
Must say I'd prefer a 427 with the steering wheel on the correct side of the car, especially with that cranked gearlever to operate, and the fact that all 427 left the factory as left hookers.
I couldn't leave it unpainted though, it would have to get shot with Guardsman Blue though, so as to look like CSX3243
I like the idea of doing the Coupe maroon, would look nice I think and be different.
What about doing it this Ford Vintage Burgundy (Ford code M1632) though, which was a '64-66 colour used on the Galaxie, and would have likely been the one used by Shelby, had they decided to paint one of the factory cars in a maroon shade...?
That is a lovely colour, but on a poll with my car buddies Viking Blue was the choice and my favourite too - so going with that Must say I'd prefer a 427 with the steering wheel on the correct side of the car, especially with that cranked gearlever to operate, and the fact that all 427 left the factory as left hookers.

And the Cobra is the full fat 427 / Toploader!

Looking at that method of entry, and I think I'd be needing an appointment with my chiropractor straight afterwards if I tried getting into one at my age
Once you are in it’s fine - this was its first start yesterday https://youtu.be/J2NWXMe3bWw?feature=shared
What a fantastic pair, enjoy! Dave does make a great car, Ive had one of his 427 cars, and thought it was great, I ended up selling it into the land of Kirkham, the USA! When it arrived in the USA it went to Mike Mckluskey who gave it a clean bill health, and after quite a thorough inspection, was quietly impressed. I had it alongside a RHD Kirkham which has subsequently moved to Italy, though will be selling that to fund the purchase of a LHD car. Its stable mate is an original 289 car which I have owned for 20 years, and when in the USA used to drive it 10,000 miles a year. The Daytona is a fantastic car, and as a continuation of the original (6?) built in period, keep the dream on the road. Having driven one in the USA, it's an uncompromising racing car, with ventilation not being its strong suit. If possible, though non period, seriously consider A/C, possibly an electric system? Whatever you do though, enjoy them.

As can probably be seen from this thread, I do like to drive RAK1T - if the weather is good on the weekend, I’ll be out in it!
A few more pictures of RAK1T and will get an update from Dave for the weekend
Had the pleasure of being woken up this morning as RAK 1T was parked outside my house ! Assume you were staying overnight in The Pointer ? A few more pictures of RAK1T and will get an update from Dave for the weekend

Sightly tangential, but here's an interesting thread from ten years ago juxtaposing a Daytona Coupe with a 250 GTO - the similarities in form are quite striking.

It’s mad how similar they are, and yet how different. I bloody love a Daytona, in fact I’ve got my eyes on a factory 5 kit one day in the future (blatantly not going to happen) but the 250 is so, so much better looking. Yet they’re proportionately so similar so the difference is an interesting one for sure.http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/shelby-american-in...

I’m sorry - I tried pushing it down the road, but was pointing in the wrong direction - lovely village and good for an overnight before the Motorsport Assembly at Bicester Heritage! The Pointer does lovely food too
Whilst staying at the Pointer, a lady who runs an Art Studio over the road came over and gave me the below picture - she’d taken it at the Scramble the year before
As a bit of a Daytona Coupe Update, DBR are now working on getting the car through the Test to get it Road registered too - not an easy task for an out-and-out historic racer…
